Value resorts vs. moderate vs. Deluxe.

I've really done a 180 on value vs. moderate vs. deluxe.

I think for my situation, the value or some moderates are more then enough. From what I've seen in this thread, the deluxe resorts certainly offer some different amenities but for me, I'm not sure its worth it (worth being subjective). So to summarize, the deluxe resorts seem to have better more dining options, closer proximity, i.e., walking distance for the MK for the contemporary, or few other intangible benefits.

I'm not knocking people who are paying a premium to go there, because, I'm heading to the contemporary this spring. I can see us however going to a value resort any subsequent trip.

That's the thing. If people are going there to just sleep in the room and hit the parks opening to closing, well, a value fits that bill. If you want more resort time, a moderate or deluxe is a better fit.

No question and we're about split on this. Most of our time will be in the parks, but my kids love to spend time in the pool and one thing they missed at the All Stars Movies was a pool with a slide in it,

The Deluxe Resorts are a big step up in uniqueness and theming, and most have monorail access, which is awesome.

Moderate Resorts are more of a middle ground, scaled back on the ultimate theming - but quite nice in their own right. You save a ton of cash over the Deluxe Resorts.

The Value Resorts are just that; for the (very) budget minded. They're not bad, mind you. But they can be rather... Garish in their theming.

Room size goes up as the cost rises, sure. That's to be expected. But they're all clean, nice places to stay - with all the Disney Resort perks!
