Value Resort in January Help

My wife and I will be taking our 2 kids - 3 yrs old (boy) and 5 yrs old (girl) to WDW in late January. Currently we have reservations for Little Mermaid at AOA. I know this is a good time of year as far as crowds are concerned. However, with this being a new resort, will it be crowded relative to the other value resorts? Should we switch to another value resort? I was just thinking it may make more sense to stay at Pop if the resort is easier to get around, less wait times for the buses, etc. Neither of our kids have been to WDW before, so anything would be 'new' to them. Our daughter is a big Little Mermaid fan, so I know she would enjoy the Little Mermaid theming. I think they would enjoy the theming at the other value resorts as well though. Any thoughts of whether you think we should keep AOA or choose another value resort would be appreciated. Thanx.

it depends. Florida weather can be iffy, as well as tour group season, but late January seems good in terms of wait times, the only negative is the park hours may be limited.

It is hard to know how busy Art of Animation is going to be, since it has only been open for a month but late January is traditionally one of the slowest times of the year at Walt Disney World. I say go for it!

I would keep the AoA reservation. It may be busier than the other Values or not depending on discounts and specials available. Either way, they will run plenty of buses so I wouldn't stress about that piece of it.

I agree. Stick with AOA. Crowds should be light and with your DD being a Little Mermaid fan, it makes the most sense to stay there.

Echoing everyone else - stay with AoA.

We went in late January 2009 for the lighter crowds and lower resort rates with our then 4.5 yr old and 2.5 yr old sons. Mother Nature threw us freezing mornings (frost on Dumbo's seats - bring something to wipe or sit on) and warm sunny afternoons (sunscreen). The day after we left the weather turned rainy. Prepare for everything.
