My word. I'm sorry. But if they see you take a picture backstage, they will develop the film in your camera and return the camera(and the pictures of nonbackstage ares) or delete the pictures of backstage areas if it is a digital camera. I was told this countless times in both training for Epcot and MK. It is Disney's private property, and they have the right to protect what the backstage ares look like.
Thank goodness I don't shoot film, and have the tools necessary to recover deleted shots.
Again though, even though it is private property, my camera is my private property, which whether or not it is involved in any rule breaking, Disney still has no right to confiscate. Not even security CM's have the right.
You can ask me to surrender it. That's it. And I can refuse and walk away.
The police can confiscate the camera. And Disney security isn't police. And I'm pretty certain that unless there are monetary damages to Disney involved, they wouldn't do anything to a person trying to leave the park.
They are law enforcement officers, not Disney's rule enforcement officers.
All Disney is truly empowered to do is A- eject the offenders from the park, B- ban the offenders from the park, C- file a civil suit... which would be thrown out of court since there are no monetary damages.
And I'll ignore the crack about me being a bad CM.
I didn't say you were a bad CM. If I were to say anything, I'd say you follow the word of the rules, and not the spirit; and you believe what the mouse says. Or maybe I'd call you a hardass. But hardly a bad CM. I have doubts about the sincerity of your Disney happy demeanor in regards to guests, but I have the same doubt about all CM's.
