Using Uber to Get to/from Parks

I'll be heading down to Orlando shortly for a convention and my company has us staying at the Rosen Plaza on International Drive. Being an AP holder, I'm hoping to head over to the parks after the show lets out and I'm thinking the easiest way to get there is by taking an Uber from the hotel.

Has anyone done this before? Is it easy/efficient? Should I expect any issues? And how is it trying to get an Uber back to the hotel at the end of the night? (at park closing or close to it)

I don't plan on going to AK but over the course of the week I might try to hit MK, EP, and DHS.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Well, it didn't work for me.

I stayed at the Rosen Shingle Creek for a conference back in April and tried to get an Uber to WDW around 9:30 am. It did not work for me. No drivers were in the area. I ended up calling Mears taxi. I had a ride to the Contemporary in a few minutes. I took the monorail into MK from the Contemporary. At the end of the night, around 10 pm, I went back to the Contemporary and caught another Mears taxi. Didn't need to call even, a driver had just dropped off another fare.

So, I would suggest getting dropped off/picked up at a resort hotel that's walking distance or monorail accessible regardless of which driving service you use. And if there isn't an Uber around, Mears works.....

Edit: You can get dropped off at the lobby. They're well lit, etc.
