Using Tickets a Year Later

So I am registered for the Wine and Dine Half Marathon in November, and I haven't purchased my tickets yet.

In July I was in a bad accident (not my fault ), and I was very lucky to be as uninjured as I was, but I did hurt my ankle, which threw off my training. Then I had a month long bout of bronchitus, which resulted in a cracked rib. It's been a looooong summer! So while I was well on my way to being ready for the 1/2, I am now way behind.

I am telling this story to help explain my ticket question. I am starting to question if I should even go this year or if I should defer for another year. I would like to buy my tickets from the RunDisney site, as they are discounted.

I won't make the decision to go or not go for a couple more weeks, but if I am going I need to buy the tickets now so they arrive in time and I can set up Fast Pass+.

So after that very long story, my question is, if I buy the tickets now, can they be used in a year or will I be out of luck if I buy them and don't go this year?

Really happy you are okay!! :)
The 14 days you have to use the tickets from first use does not start until you go to your first park. So if you do not use them this year at all to enter a park hey will still be good next year, and any year you decide to go back. :)
One thing to check though is if those special tickets from Run Disney have an expiration date which is possible but normal MYW tickets that are never used at all do not expire. :)

Thank you so much, sxeensweet! I really appreciate the info :). I will definitely check the fine print at RunDisney, but I'm hoping it is the same policy!

Thanks again!

The runDisney tickets typically need to be used with 14 days either way of the event date. Specifically to prevent people from buying them and holding onto them for future non sport event trips. This is also why they cannot be upgraded.
