Using Resort Valet Parking for Parks

I know that you cannot leave your car at a resort (like the contemporary) for an all day trip to the Magic Kingdom, even if you have dining reservations and are eating at a resort restaurant. I understand that the limit is three hours.

However, I was told that it is OK to do this as long as you pay for and use the valet parking. Is this true? :veryconfu

We have a breakfast reservation for Chef Mickey's for our last day before we leave. We originally thought about leaving to drive home after our breakfast, but have now decided to go to the Magic Kingdom until about 3:00pm (it was so cheap to add one more day on our MYW tickets:sohappy: ).

It would logistically make things MUCH easier if we were able to park at the Contemporary the entire time. However, I want to follow the rules. Does the valet option solve my quandary?

I did this a couple of months ago.

We were going to Concourse Steak House for breakfast and because we have the DDE card we can valet for free. I asked the parking attendant if it was OK to leave the car in valet when we went to MK after breakfast or did we need to move it to the TTC. He said it was fine to leave it in valet.

I don't know if this is the official line so it might be a good idea to ask while they are parking your car.

Thanks for the advice.

I have heard from several people that this was OK as long as you were in valet.

However, like you said, I have not heard whether this is the "official line."

I April, we left our car in Valet at GF while we ate lunch and then visited the MK. The attendant said that it was OK.

Thanks. Great to know.:sohappy:

Given the logistics of our trip, it would be well worth the $7 to leave our car in valet at the resort (after our breakfast) while we are at the park.

The valet parking is pretty expensive even if you don't include the tip. A lot of guests used to park in the hotel lots and/or the resort lots to avoid paying the parking fee at the parks, but Disney has put the kibosh on that for the most part.

Valet parking is now in the $12-15 range. Parking at the parks is $10.

We paid $9/day at the Boardwalk Inn last summer. You only pay once a day no mater how many times you move it, just keep the little card they give you in the window along with your parking pass.

Valet is $7 at WL, AKL, Poly and the Contempoary. I think GF and BW is $9. Parking at the parks is $9.

Parking with an AP and a DDE card is free everywhere.:D
