When we fisrt stayed in All Star Sports, we got the mugs and thought it was great. When we knew we were going back, we thought about taking the old mugs back and re-using them again on another trip to the same exact resort.
We decided not to take them back and just buck it up and buy the new mugs, even though they were the exact same things that we had at home. Why?? Because we were being honest, no more, no less. Sure I love a bargain and will take advantage of something when it's cheap or free but the mugs just seemed different to me.
It's like when you go to Costco or BJs and buy the fountain soda cup. You know it is intended for the time you are spending in the store during that trip only. So you may fill it 3 or 4 times by the time you are through, and that's OK. But do you brink back the cup next week or month when you come back to shop again? NO.
Same concept. Use it all you want during your stay but don't bring it back next time.
Obviously there are 3 types of people on this subject, those who won't use the mugs time after time, those who will and those who don't give a rat's a$$.
I am not trying to be high and mighty (believe me, I'm anything but) but this is one issue where I feel people are being CHEAP and are abusing a good thing. Just like the recording artists with Napster, Disney is going to find a way to eliminate this privilege if it continues being abused. Whether is be bar coded stickers or a card swipe unit, it will be put into place eventually.
It's not the Disney management style to tell a guest that they can't have something which is why they don't enforce the rule on this as much as they could.
I guess what it comes down to is that people are getting away with free drinks from the fountains after they purchased a mug 5 years ago while honest people like me are getting charged for this service (and getting the priced increased too over last year!!)
