Using remaining No expiration days from a 4 year old ticket?

Hi, while checking out on my final day in 2005, I bought the no expiration option for my final day available. I am going to be using the final day next weekend, and I was wondering if I can just use that ticket (it is a key to the world ticket, used during my stay on property) at the turnstiles, or do I need to go somewhere to have it exchanged before going to the turnstiles? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure a MYW ticket should work in the turnstiles no matter how old it is.

If it were a previous format ticket it might need to be exchanged, but I think MYW started in early '05, so you should be fine.

I expected them to charge me more since when it was purchased Animal Kingdom was not built. But they exchanged it and I was allowed to enter all four parks.

That is true...if the ticket predates the magic your way program then you have to go to GR and have them change the ticket. The reason you weren't charged more is due to the clause that is on the back of you ticket. Before AK opened, there wasn't a clause that tickets were only good at parks opening before that date. Now all park tickets are created with a clause that says they are not good at any park commencing operation after May 1, 1998. So if Disney were to open a new theme park on the same pricing scheme as the current ones, old park tickets would not be changed over to include that park as they were with AK.

With that said, here is my question: the tickets are under the Orrico Family Name. I got married a year ago and although I still use the Orrico name will my DH be able to benefit from these tickets?

I think it depends on whether the parks were using the finger scanner thingies when the tickets were originally used. Nowdays, anytime you use your ticket for the first time, you have to put your finger on that thing to scan your fingerprint. Then, anytime you use the ticket after that, you have to scan your finger again, and if the fingerprint doesn't match, it won't take the ticket. This is to prevent you from passing your ticket off to someone else. It can also be a pain if you are the keeper of the tickets for your family and you just pass the tickets out to your family members without matching the names up. Now, when those tickets were first used (the ones you were given), I don't know if they scanned fingerprints or not. But if they did, then I would imagine that they would still be matched up with the original fingerprints and you would thus be unable to use them.

Personally, I think that whole "tickets are non-transferable" rule is pretty stupid, anyway. As long as those tickets are bought and paid for, I don't see why Disney should give a ratt's butt who uses them...they already have their money. :shrug:

Do they just enter the info on a computer, or does the card need to be scanned or swiped?

Maybe they did swipe or scan it, it was 4 years ago so I don't exactly recall lol

If you paid for it, then rest assured it was done. The cast member would have had a hard time taking your money if they didn't perform the operation on the ticket.

So I called Disney and asked them about rather or not to go to the turn stiles or guest relations. He said that I needed to go to guest relations to have the ticket exchanged. Where is guest relations at in Epcot and Magic Kingdom? I'm not sure which park we will start out at. From what I can recall with Magic Kingdom, is it off to the left of the turnstiles? Also, what if they say I don't have the no expiration option (which I do, I remember paying $30 for it.) can I purchase a ticket from them, or would I have to go all the way back to the TTC to buy a one day ticket?

With the no expiration all they have to do is enter it into the computer. They don't have to scan your ticket as they have already entered the code on the back of the ticket into the computer. I had bought a 7 day MYW ticket back in 2007 at a disney store and the first day I went to one of the parks I went to guest services inside the park and had the No Expiration added to the ticket. I used 3 days that summer and the remaining 4 days in 2008 with no problem.

You should have recieved a receipt when you paid for the option and if you did you should always keep it in case you have a problem. If you ever have any problems with your ticket the receipt can help fix them and if you ever lose the ticket they will be able to reissue you a new one.

Just remember whenever you buy any of the Disney tickets always keep your receipt until you have used up all the days on the ticket.

I completely agree with that mentality. I usually do that, but I honestly don't remember getting a receipt. I figured why they didn't give me one was because I had already purchased the ticket with a package, so since I was just adding the option, they wouldn't furnish a receipt.

Guest Relations in on the right-hand side of the turnstiles at both the MK and Epcot. (And for future reference, it's on the left-hand side of the turnstiles at Studios and AK).

I doubt you'll have a problem, but to aleviate your concerns, yes, they'll be able to seel you a ticket at Guest Relations if necessary.
