An AP discount is different than a pin.

A pin is something that is emailed/snail mailed to you with a specific pin code tied directly to your name/household that only you can use.

AP discounts are for anyone that has an annual pass.

Hi there!

There is so much info about pin codes and discount codes and AP discounts available here that if you search, you should be able to find a lot of info on it all. But basically, discount codes are released and can provide discounts by the area that you live, offer free something or other, or just reduce your rates on packages or rack rates. And Pin codes are randomly mailed or emailed out to you - there is no way of knowing who will get one - but it helps to sign up on the different disneyworld sites (Disney insider, etc.) as they come from Disney. If you get a pin code or want to apply a discount code, call a CM to help with the reservations or contact Kingdom Kunsultants. AP discounts are discounts given for being AP holders. Hope this info helps.

In addition to the info that disneygirl gave above, most discounts listed on Mousesavers (such as the ones they list with a three-letter discount code) can be booked online. You just have to find the correct discount page listing the discount.
If it's a General Public discount where anyone can book it, you can click on the "Special Offers" link on the WDW homepage.
If it's an Annual Passholder rate, you'll need to log into the Passholder section of the WDW site to find the listing. (And to do THAT, you'll need either an Annual Pass, FL Resident Seasonal Pass, or a voucher for one of those)

If you get a PIN code in the mail or via e-mail, you *have* to call on the phone. It cannot be done online. The phone operators can also book the General Public and AP rates, too.

Lastly, your friendly local travel agent (or site-sponsor Kingdom Konsultants) can book any of the discounts for you.
