Using Disney Gift Cards To Tip...

If you are on the Dining Plan, obviously you are not "paying" for your meals. If you have gift cards...can they be used to tip in the restaurants?

Yes you can tip by any form of payment, gift card (at most restaurants unless noted they do not accept Disney gift card but there is very few that do not accept them) , credit card, room charge on your magic band etc.

If you are staying onsite, you can also use your magicband to tip and then pay it off with the giftcard at the concierge. I do this with my Disney rewards points - its usually a sizable amount of money so I transfer the points over then go straight downstairs to pay off the tab.

I find this as the easier way to do things so you are not always trying to figure out what you have left on what gift card. Just don't wait until the last day to pay it off because by that time they have already charged your credit/debit card.

Also to add....You may reach the room charge limit before checkout. They charge to your card on file as soon as you reach the max. Usually we meet the max before check out day. So I would check regularly to see where your at and make a payment with your gift cards accordingly if you choose this method. Values limit is $500. Moderates is $1000, and Deluxe/Deluxe Villa is $1500. Once you reach the max and they charge your credit card and you start off fresh again with the max charging limit.

Haha! And we are always at Deluxe/Deluxe Villa so I think I have a spending problem at WDW!!!! I have though cut back last year and will have to this year for our trip in Oct because I have too much stuff in my house(trying to declutter in our 1200sq ft), and budget reasons but still we usually met that limit days before check out even when watching our/my spending. Lol

Haha! Well your not alone I am one too!! People often complain there is not enough nice well made unique stuff/new items in the parks and resorts. I beg to differ because if all they had was generic/cheap/same old stuff then I would not be spending nearly the amount I do while at WDW!! Lol
