Using DDP credits on departure day

Quick question - I know the DDP gives credits per night of stay at hotel. Can you use credits on your departure day after check out? I've used credits the morning of departure before check out, but never tried after. Thanks!

Yes, when we had the plan, we were usually getting 30-40 Mickey Rice Crispy treats just to consume all the credits. We always had tons of left over credits because we simply do not eat that much.

One of my favorite parts about the dining plan is paying for the meals of unsuspecting people. Just go up to a veteran our a young family and say, "I have credits that are about to expire, can I pay for your meal?" It's a lot of fun and something I have never done at home. But at Disney, it's sharing the magic.

@Dafid Duck I have done that too. People are usually so thankful and most of the time even offer to pay you part of the cost lol. One trip we saw an elderly couple going through their bag looking for their money to buy lunch so we just walked up and bought it for them. They were eternally grateful, and at least it isn't wasted.

Have you guys done this reciently? I thought I had read on another thread in the last 6 months or so that Disney is no longer allowing you to do this using DDP credits. The poster stated that the CM told them the credits could only be used for the guest/party they where "assigned" to.

@MickeyMomV Disney has tried to get more strict but if I walk up and order meals with one other person Disney has no clue who they are so they really can't stop it. I have never had an issue doing it. Just don't make it a big known fact while ordering and there's nothing they will do. In all honesty you can tell the employees don't care because they can usually tell and ignore it.

You just can't do it with table service.

Thank you for the clarification. I think the other thread may have been talking about table service.

Unfortunately, we only get to go every two or three years. So, no we haven't had or given away a Disney meal for a while. I saw that post about Disney limiting who you can use your dining points on as well. Very unmagical. I just figured, "How would they know?"

Early November my cousins had a bunch of snack credits left over (around 15) and I had to bring them to the airport at 5 am. One just left me their band and code. I treated my friends to a trip around the Food & Wine fest that afternoon.

I feel if it was a “pay X amount for X days and eat all you want” there would be greater checks on DDP because it would be really easy to abuse. The way it is now there’s not really much point.
