Hi,
I booked WL at a fantastic rate through Orbitz and now have a couple questions...

How do I arrange DME? Do I have to wait until I arrive at MCO and show them my reservation to organize this or is there way in advance I can get this set up? Do I still receive luggage tags if I have used Orbitz?

In addition, what about room requests? How and when can I make requests?

Thanks everyone in advance! :D

To answer both questions, you will need to contact Orbitz directly to book DME and to make room requests. You will not be able to utilize DME without an advance DME reservation. Unforchantly you will not be able to contact Disney directly when booked through a third party wholesaler.

I just want to second everything that JPVonDrake said.

When you book through a travel agent, that travel agent "owns" your reservation and you don't. You actually have no right to make any changes to your reservation without making them through your travel agent. This is why if I do use a travel agent, I use a human one I can talk to.

And I just want to EMPHATICALLY confirm that you can't just walk up to the DME counter at the airport and get a ride to your resort. They will turn you away. This was always the rule since Day One, although there was evidence that Disney was giving DME rides to walk-ups, anyway. There was an outcry from the ground transportaiton industry at OIA, and in the newest contract between Disney and OIA they guarantee that they will only transport people from the airport with advance reservations.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I actually cancelled my orbitz reservation, it was so difficult to deal with them for these issues.

I made alternative arrangements for WL and have sorted out DME.

For future trips, I highly recommend using Kingdom Konsultants who is a sponsor on this board. I have used them many many time and they are great. I used to do all my own ressie's directly with Disney, but since I had started using KK about 5 years or so ago, I have no desire to do my own ressie's ever again. If there is a deal out there that you are eligible for, they are on it right away and will do their best to get it for you which most other travel agents will not do because they want you to spend more money for an increased commission, but with KK's it is customer first.
