USD quarters: how to get them at Disney?

Of course something has to slip through the cracks when a first-timer is planning a WDW vacation.

So here I was just assuming that our banks would have, or could order in, rolls of American quarters.
Ya, apparently not so much. All the American coin gets mixed up into ours and we use it here all the time.

I am now faced with the dilemma of how to get those 4 rolls of quarters I need so the kids can have a blast collecting pressed pennies. Our currency exchanges here also do not stock US coin. I really wish I had thought of this sooner and gone to the bank the last time I was across the border.
We are flying down and the flight leaves too early to hit the banks before the airport.

Are there any coin machines at Disney?

Any thoughts on how to proceed?

So I didn't have to pack rolls of quarters in my suitcase, I used the change machine at the resort's laundry room. :) Of course I spread it out through our trip so I didn't empty the machine out in a day. Depending on where you stay, there will be more than one laundry room and more than one change machine in each.

Also, if you get to Magic Kingdom and find you need a few dollars in quarters go to the Frontierland Shooting Gallery where they have a change machine. :)

You can go just about anywhere that has a cash register and ask for a roll of quarters. They are $10.

That's great! I wasn't sure how they'd be about it; asking for so many at once. I was also unsure whether with the advent of the bands the stores wouldn't have as much cash on hand anymore.

:D:D That's the best...you were tricksy about it!
I suppose I'll have to call AKL and find out if they still use coins for their laundry machines.

Thanks so much for the ideas!

Here is how I do it. It is not difficult. There are several ways. First method is talk to the front desk at the resort. Let them know you want to do pressed pennies. They may not have rolls of quarters available that day, but they can get them easily the next day for you. The other resort option is to go to the laundry room. They have a change machine there. It takes up to $10 bills I think. Then there are other options by going to the stores that have the machines. Usually, they have a larger than normal collection of rolled quarters. If they are not busy, they can accommodate.

Don't forget about the arcades. Any hotel or park that has a coin-operated arcade will likely have several change machines. They won't be rolled up all nice and neat, but they will be regularly stocked.

Sadly, most arcades now are the ones where you have to load money onto a card, then you swipe the card on the game to play.

I miss the coin operated ones!:arghh:
