Has anyone ever UPS'd a package (clothes, groceries) to their resort the da of thier arrival? I have heard of this being done and am curious about the outcomes... Will they hold the package at the desk for you to pick up? :lookaroun

I don't see why not, just make sure you name is clearly on the package. And nothing that will spoil.

I would also add to the outside of the package the fact that you're a guest, and the dates of your stay. When in doubt, call the resort and find out how they want it.

great ideas

Thanks for the info. I had heard of this on other sites and in guides but have never tried it myself. I was thinking of doing it with clothes so I do not have to check my bags. I'll call ahead and find out how the hotel would like it. Thanks again for your ideas.

And what, you wouldn't put your milk and ice cream in there? JK:brick:

We do it every time we go (about 3 times a year). We usually send diapers, wipes and other stuff we don't plan on bringing back home. Here's what you do:

Address your package to your hotel like a normal package. Somewhere on the top of your box, write "Hold for arrival on xxxxxxxx" Also be sure to put your name next to that.

It's usually best to use a good, strong box since the "animals" at UPS really beat it up pretty good.

It works for us every time and I highly reccommend it. Saves on suitcase space. I'm shipping my package out in about 2 weeks. Can't wait!!

Only 20 more days til I'm Home!! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Thanks again for the great info. I am not sure if I will fo this or not but it is great getting the info. It would be hard to do with clothes I think as then you have to figure out how to get them home, unless you send them in your suitcase (in a box?), but then you would probably be charged as lot due to the weight... Geezo, this gets complicated, eh? :brick:  :lookaroun

I ordered a camera battery from there last year and had it overnighted because mine died mid week. They signed for it and called the room to tell me I had a fed ex package at the guest relations. It was alot easier than driving to best buy.

I have to UPS and FedEx packages to hotels all the time when our sales staff attends a show or convention. As Mickifan17 said, label the box with your name and say hold for arrival. Another good idea when shipping is put a shipping label inside the box too. We have had occasions when the original shipping label fell off, got damaged, became unreadable and UPS and FedEx had to open the box to see where it should go. UPS even says to do this on their website. Wish I would have thought of that the year my suitcase was ruined by the airlines. I had to buy a suitcase to come home with. We have other suitcases at home so this was a waste of money. Shipping the clothes home would have been cheaper.

To add with what Nansafan said, I too have to ship a lot to outside sales reps at conventions. The key is to put as much information indicating you are a guest on there. If you choose to ship after you have checked in make sure to add your phone number. Also, make sure to get the tracking info as well. I don't know how many times we have shipped and recieved delivery confirmation and signature and the hotels claim to never get the package, and its sitting behind the desk. [I am sure Disney is better than that though. ;) ]

Just be careful to have the package arrive before you check out... Someone sent us a package at the Caribbean Beach, but because it was delayed, it didn't arrive until the afternoon of our check-out day. Although we were still going to be in the area a few more days (and the front desk CM made a note of the package's expected arrival after check-out in our file), whoever received the package at the hotel refused it because the computer said we'd already checked out... :-\
