Upgrading Tickets...

Sorry if this has been asked before - has anyone had any issues with upgrading multiple-day tickets? For instance I am trying to upgrade my 6 day base ticket to a 7 day base ticket. I have been on the phone with Disney for the past 30 minutes and several CM's have been telling conflicting stories. First they routed me to guest services & they said I have to do it the day I want to upgrade at the ticket window at Magic Kingdom, then a supervisor got on the phone and said I can do it with ticketing (which I asked to speak with when the darned recording asked me what I wanted to do when I called in). Can I actually do this with someone on the phone or do I have to wait until the EXACT day I need to update the ticket? HALP! HALP!!

My issue is that if I can, I need to do it sooner because I want to book my fastpasses ASAP. I am only upgrading my ticket out of the 5 other family members that already have 6 day base tickets

Same boat here. I called last week and was given the same answer, you have to do it at the parks. They need to rethink this policy with this making Fast Pass reservation system.

Did you book the tickets as part of a package? (room + tickets+ dining, etc)

If tickets were purchased separately, then you will indeed have to wait until you arrive on-site to upgrade them. If you didn't buy them directly from Disney, you should also make sure you *use* it to enter the park on your first day and then upgrade it. This will maximize the amount you're credited in the upgrade.

A suggestion since it's FP+ that you're concerned about: Cancel one of the other days (or don't book it if you haven't booked yet) just for yourself, preferably a day at a park that could conceivably have FP+ that are easily re-booked once you're on-site (such as Animal Kingdom).
Based on the info you've given, I'm assuming there is a day that *you* will be going into the parks while the rest of your family isn't. So book that day for yourself, and book the AK day for the rest of your family. Once you're on-site and have upgraded your ticket with the extra day, go into the FP+ choices for that day you're not booked on and add yourself to the FP+ party. If you're lucky you'll be able to just add yourself to those FP+ with no need to mess around with changing times.

Your suggestions have been a really big help - thank you! I will try exploring this option...
