Upgrading Circlevision

Circlevision is such an ancient technology. It relies on 35mm cameras synchronized perfectly with a gap between each screen for the projector. Why doesn't Disney upgrade the existing Circlevision theaters with projectors that stitch each panel together. The projectors could hang from the ceiling or even behind the screens to give a twenty foot tall floor to ceiling seamless 360 degree view. It would be like the holodeck. I'd imagine 3D might be a little difficult since everything your not looking directly at would be out of focus. The old movies could be stitched together and shown digitally. Seem like a fairly cheap upgrade to do to increase attendance in the France & Canada pavilions.

Did you just copy and paste the Werner Weiss Yesterland post from Miceage? If so, very bad form, phruby.
No, but I thought it was a really good idea that we could talk about it here. I've also seen versions where the floor moved and had wind and water effects.

Not the worst idea in the world but EPCOT needs to move beyond just showing short films about the country anyway. It made sense at the time that they were originally installed, but it was overkill then, and that was when the park had a variety of things to do.
