Upgrade at Beach club

Has anybody ever heard of WDW upgrading you at the Beach Club Resort?? We are going mid/end of May before Memorial Day and just wondered since we are celebrating 2 Bdays if they might upgrade us. Thoughts/Feedback?? :wave:

Upgrades are pretty random and don't have anything to do with what you might or might not be celebrating. It mostly depends on what's available for the duration of your stay. I have no solid proof, but logically if you're staying for 2 or 3 days vs. 7 or 8 then the chances of a room in a higher category being available for the length of your stay would be greater. We've only been upgraded once for free upon check-in. That particular situation we had a savana view room at AKL booked for 2 days then the rest of our stay was club level. We booked this way because those first 2 days of our trip weren't available on the club level with a discount. The discount had sold out. They "upgraded" us at check-in so we wouldn't have to move rooms 2 days into the trip. :wave:

We were upgraded to club level at the Yacht Club for our honeymoon. Like others said, and will say, upgrades are only for the operating benefit of the resort. That said, I guess that you're slightly more likely to be upgraded celebrating something than not. I wouldn't expect an upgrade as they aren't common.

About 80% of the visitors at WDW are celebrating a birthday on any given day. They can give you a button to wear, but that's about it.

I have been upgraded twice. Once at the Yatch Club and the other a the Beach Club.

On Honeymoon now at Beach Club. Arrived yesterday, got upgraded to Pool/Water view on Concierge level. Also, we came to room tonight to see they made this awesome presentation of Wine/Chocolates/Big White choc mickey with glasses sitting on our dresser. This has just been amazing so far
