Updates via text

On the "My reservations" page of the DCL website, there's an option to receive updates (presumably about my particular cruise) via text message.

Has anybody tried this? When I put in my phone number, I got an error message saying that it failed to send the message. Anybody getting updates via text? Is it worth it?
