It screams "I used to be a parking lot".
Which is pretty cool, considering it was never any such thing, particularly as there are plenty of coasters (SFMW's Medusa and SFMM's Scream come to mind) that really were built on what used to be parking lots, and it shows.

I think Chester&Hester's Dino-Rama is absolutely hilarious. A little less effective now that Dinosaur is no longer a headliner, but still...

Yeah, but you've got Banff National Park:), and Niagra Falls:D, and the casinos at Windsor:lookaroun...

The only problem with that bit of logic is that there is a fair bit of distance between some of those places. It's like someone saying that they are going to Disneyland today and Epcot tomorrow. :lookaroun

But, on a serious note, there are some good places up here. They just can't compare to a Disney experience.

They'll have Frank from pyro holding a beach ball over his head and turning slowly in a circle...

:ROFLOL:

And for Hester & Chester's... if you know the backstory, it's greatly done. But if you don't (which would probably be most of the general public), I can see how people don't really like it too much. To me, I think it's an ok part of the park. Not the best, but not the worst.

I love PW. The first time I went on it, I nearly peed myself with laughter. I was not prepared for the spinning effect, and I thought it was awesome.

The area does sort of remind me of the Shamu Happy Harbour area at SW though....

Disney should have 2 globes for the show.
If one was down they would always have the other one.

What is it with people suggesting that Disney build two of everything as a backup or to alternate while they refurb one? It's Disney's bank account we're talking about here, not Bill Gates'. ;)

The globe has been in pretty much daily use for 8 years now. (That's coming up on 3000 performances, BTW) I don't think it's ever been out for a refurb, and hasn't missed very many shows. (perhaps kept in the middle of the lagoon and not driven out during the show, but it's still in the show)

There have been major advances in video technology in the past 8 years, and it needs a retrofit. Here's hoping that come December it will leave Guests in awe once again with cutting-edge technology.

And for the poster who asked what people are supposed to look at in that section of the show, many months ago they reportedly worked on a shortened version of RoE that would add some pyro and cut out most of the music for the globe's solo section. But the globe refurb has kept getting pushed back and pushed back... Maybe it'll happen this time.

Even when you tell people the backstory, they seem to care less. This is such a shame, Having worked in both MK and Dinoland in DAK, I know how important storylines are to the success of the park and the entertainment aspect. However, it is hard to want to "play the part" when you encounter some guests who just don't care.

Yes, I did mention it will be open in some capacity before that date, but it will be 100% completed and fully operational in January.

Ah... the new Grand One. We saw it last week and wondered if was the replacement (didn`t see the name) - it picked up a family after MNSSHP to take them back to the Flori. That`s money for ya!

Would someone tell me what the Grand One is? a yacht (rentable??) of some sort? or only available to GF resort guests?

Based on my info, Tusker House is 'technically' down until January 19th, but may open to some regular day guests as early as November. I'm not sure exactly what that means to be honest? Soft-opening? Maybe not all sections of the restaurant are open until January 19th? I don't know.

Well, we have a lunch ADR for early December, so it must be in a "soft opening" phase from mid November til mid January.
