Trip Report ***Updated! Just got back from AULANI-pics AND the return of the Lovenerds: 2nd anniversary PTR!

Hi all! This is a TR AND a PTR, sort of...
As you might remember, I'm Lauren, and I'm married to the wonderful Chris. I did two TR's in the past:
-First trip together March 2011
-Honeymoon 2012.
We also went with Chris's family in December 2012 and in June 2013, but I didn't do any TR's for those. I really only do them for when it's just the two of us.
Anywho, this is us!

This is two years ago on the Disney Dream on our honeymoon!
We have had some epic adventures together! Part of this is thanks to Chris's brother, who is DVC. He always takes us along, so we typically travel in a group of 8- (Chris's brother, sister, her husband, their two kids, and my mother in law, plus the two of us).
Well, the 6 of them went to Aulani 2 months before we got married. We opted out to save money for our wedding and honeymoon (airfare to Hawaii is not cheap!) They loved it so much they had to go back, and this time they brought us. We were there for 7 days...June 21-28. We did stop overnight in Phoenix on June 20th. I wasn't planning on writing a TR for it because this is a WDW forum and I wouldn't want to spoil the vibe. But I can tell you, it was AWESOME.

Ok, anywho. I also promised a PTR!
We are definitely having an exciting summer because we are also going back to WDW soon to celebrate our 2nd anniversary! Our Magic Bands have been customized and should ship soon...we are sooo excited to use them! Chris has an old 10-day no-expiry park hopper and has like 5 or 6 days left on it. I bought a 4-day park hopper plus one free day from Undercover Tourist. Can't beat a free day! Our plans here aren't in stone because Chris's cousin, her husband, and their son are going to be there at the same time as us and we plan on meeting up with them some. Also, there is the TEENSIEST chance my mom might join us for like 3 days or so. She hasn't been to WDW in 23 years since we used to go in November to see my grandma at Daytona Beach when I was like 11 years old!
We will be staying at Boardwalk using David's Vacation Club Rentals. We tried to get into the Beach Club since I've never stayed there before, but it wasn't possible. So the Boardwalk it is (Oh, the torture!...yeah right!) We are hoping to get one of the refurbished rooms...this happened to us when we were at POFQ back in 2011- we were the first people to stay in our room after its refurbishment. Come on, pixie dust!
On Day 1 we fly into MCO at around 10:30, and we hope to be on-property by 11:30 via Magical Express. We'll check in and get our anniversary buttons!! We will probably just chill all day at the freaky clown pool and in our room whenever it's ready. We will jump on the bus to DTD for a ADR at House of Blues and hang out in DTD all evening. We might even go see Guardians of the Galaxy since it is coming out that day! We are huge nerds and are super excited to see it (Particularly since Karen Gillan from Doctor Who is in it!)
Day 2- Magic Kingdom. We have breakfast ADR's at Crystal Palace. I have never eaten there before and I've had a serious need for a hug from Pooh lately! We have Fastpass+ for Peter Pan, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and Under the Sea. We can't wait to go on the Mine Train! We might change the other two, we shall see.
Not sure if we will stay at MK all day, we might go back to our room or the pool (we are afternoon nappers and pool hogs since August is hot as you-know-whats and we can only go in the summer because yours truly is a teacher). We might go to another park, not sure, depends on how we're feeling!
Day 3- We will probably sleep in and have breakfast at Cat Cora's since it is going away. We'll mosey on over to Epcot whenever we feel like it..probably closer to afternoon or evening since it has evening EMH. We have dinner ADR's at San Angel Inn in Mexico...the one that overlooks the river and volcano. Another first for me! We will stay late and focus on exploring the World Showcase. I LOVE it at night!
Day 4-This is our chill day. Actually Chris's cousin, her husband, and their son are going to be there at the same time and staying somewhere with an amazing lazy river (off-property) so we will probably go hang out with them for the day! We do have breakfast ADR's however at Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club.
Day 5- We will go to MK later in the afternoon for our EARLY dinner ADR's at Be Our Guest...a first for both of us! We have Fastpass+ for the Mine Train again, Haunted Mansion, and Jungle Cruise...again, might change. We have a very special event this evening...we have reservations to go to the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party! And MK has evening EMH so we'll party til the cows come home.
Day 6- Our Anniversary! We will spend the morning at Epcot Future World. Breakfast as usual at Sunshine Seasons, and Fastpass+ at Soarin, Nemo, and Maelstrom. We will get all spiffed up for dinner at Cali Grill! Can't wait to see the refurb!
Day 7- Hollywood Studios! We are pumped to see the Frozen stuff at DHS. No idea what to expect, but I'm sure it will be great. We have FP+ for ToT, Toy Story, and Star Tours. We will scope out a good spot for the Frozen fireworks to top off an amazing vacation!
Well, that's it! TTFN, ta-ta- for-now!

Would love an Aulani full TR. We are headed there is a week!
Oh wow you are going to have a wonderful time. It was truly the most relaxing, renewing vacation I've ever been on. The only thing was that the days sort of melded together because we just hung out at the resort! There were 2 days that we left though...We went up to visit the Waimea valley waterfall...it was absolutely gorgeous. We also went to the North Shore and got to swim with sea turtles because they're everywhere! We went to a little beach called Papailoa beach...I think very few tourists know about it. We found it on a forum for the TV show Lost, because they filmed the whole show on Oahu and that was one of the filming locations. All beaches on Oahu are public and by law there has to be public access. Have a wonderful time!!!

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW - I am highly debating on a trip to Hawaii. What makes Aulani amazing? What is the cost? I have not really researched at all.

It is truly the most beautiful Disney hotel I've ever been to. The pools are amazing, and the beach is just gorgeous. Sometimes you go to a resort though, and once you leave, the outside isn't so pretty. Hawaii is just beautiful...the Garden of Eden. Aulani is wonderful, but beyond the resort is also wonderful. Flowers everywhere, all different sorts of trees you don't see in the continental US, all sorts of birds, and if you look close enough in the ocean around big rocks where kelp grows, there are sea turtles everywhere.
The general attitude or all-encompassing feeling of "aloha" is everywhere. "Aloha" means hello, it means love, and it is an entire concept that the Hawaiians truly live by.
Hawaii in general is expensive...getting there costs an arm and a leg. However, my brother in law is in DVC so we didn't have to pay for lodging. I can say the food at Aulani is also very expensive, so we shopped at a Super Target 3 miles down the road and we cooked for ourselves since we were in a villa.

I posted the link to all the photos I took inside my first post in this thread :)
I just skipped right over that link. Just now looked at all the pics....wonderful!
Loved the sunset pics with the palm trees. Great photos. Thank you so much for sharing.
We came back from a trip to the Bahamas a few years ago and I had taken more than 900 pictures. My wife said, "Really, who takes 900 pictures?" Now I know I'm not the only one!

Thanks!!! It was amazing, I hope you get the chance! I have been reading your TR by the way...I love your husband's Avengers shirts! My husband would be sooooo jealous!

Thanks for reading! I absolutely hate flying...so I think a flight from boston to hawaii might do me in! Yes my husband is quite proud of his avenger tshirt collection lol. He definitely has a countdown until Guardians of the Galaxy!

***Update!!! My mom is joining us for 4 days of our trip! I am so excited! She hasn't been to Disney World since 1991...I was 11 years old. I am so looking forward to sharing everything new with her !!! Our plans are going to stay pretty much the same. I was able to cancel most of our ADR's and re-reserve them for 3 people around the same time. The only one I can't change is Crystal Palace...I am going to call Disney and see if they can add one person. Then there are the fastpass+ to worry about...I can cancel and redo them, just maybe not the Mine Train. Chris and I are scheduled to ride it on our second MK day, but my mom might not be able to get on it while she's there. But regardless, we are going to have a blast!
