I read on another thread that an animatronic Lumiere will be alongside Belle at her new M&G, and that there is a possibility of including Cogsworth in the near future.

I would hope so. If you are putting all this effort into just a restaurant for one princess then you need some supporting characters.

Foie gras is a kind of pate.

One of the things I find most interesting about the Internet is people who enjoy rushing to correct others online...especially when those "correctors" aren't correct in their correcting. I'd love to know more about the psychology that drives you to do this. Is it a way to get attention for yourself?

Foie gras is a spécial kind of pate. Not all pates are banned in some places, just foie gras because animal rights activists have argued that the fattening of the geese to create the foie gras is cruel.

"Pate" is a generic term for any meat that is turned into a spread...and in the film Beauty and the Beast the "gray stuff" could be a number of different kinds of meat spreads on a cracker, which is what was animated.

Maybe you can spend a little more time doing your research before going into correction mode next time.
This was what my point was supposed to be, I am aware of the nuance of Foie gras is one type of Pate. I worded my response poorly, I was too brief and should have waited to be on a keyboard. I can see now reading my post how it came across, My intention was not to "correct you" but rather prevent some people from assuming all Pate is from goose and is inhumane. You did a very good job clarifying that in your response.

The Epcot Manifesto
California banned its sale as cruel to animals. Some major cities like Chicago also ban it.

Chicago reversed it's ban on Foie years ago, lead by my favorite place to eat, Hot Doug's and my favorite thing in the world, The Foie Dog (Foie Gras and Sauternes Duck Sausage with Truffle Aioli, Foie Gras Mousse and Fleur de Sel ).

I have to think that they will either do a play on Pate / Foie, or they will go in a completely new direction and create some sort of dessert out of it. I just know that there are going to be a lot of people up in arms (like Gaston's mob) if they don't have some version of it on the menu. Personally, I'm fine with or without it. It wont make me like the place more or less, as long as the food is good.

I agree that the "grey stuff" was supposed to be Foie Gras, but I wonder if they could make some sort of chocolate mousse as The Grey Stuff. Would be MUCH more popular with the kiddies (and a lot of adults, like me!:D)

That Foie Dog is flat out amazing. Good call!

P.S. Foie Gras is banned not pâté ... to clarify pâté is a method of preparation, Foie Gras is a food product. Foie Gras can be prepared as pâté, or seared, or as a terrine, or as a mousse. Pâté can have Foie gras or other animal livers or any type of meat really. So technically BOG can serve all the pate it wants providing it doesn't contain Foie gras, which specifically is fattened duck or goose liver.
