The WoL pavilion will be unavailable to guest and special event use from July 1st through November 24th as it will be used for the Food and Wine Festival Center, hosting seminars, wine-tastings, and so on.

Wow. I wonder if it will then open the rides and shows during that time also, or just the seminars will be held inside?

Last year WOL also opened up for the Holiday season on November 26 which is Sunday of the last week of November. This year that Sunday falls on Nov 25. Will the pavillion be turned back over and reopened again on the 25th?

Darn - does this possibly mean The Odyssey won`t be used for F&W, or could both be used? I`m hoping to document the Odyssey interior - it`s been 14 years since I`ve been inside.

GEEKY! :D

The Festival Center for past F&W and F&G festivals was where the Character Spot is now, thus the need to relocate it. They still used Odyssey and WSP for dinners and Party for the Senses. Whether these will still be the same I don't know.

I'm thinking the Odyssey is going to reopen as a regular restaurant once WoL is fully converted into convention space. It makes much more sense to have all of that stuff in an out of the way spot like WoL then to have it in the Odyssey which is right on that path.

Nothing has been decided. At this point it is all speculation. And in the mean time while it's fate is decided, it's being used for special events, catered functions and conventions.

Why don't they just blow that place up and build a new Weather Pavillion or something... I'm tired of it sitting there and opening every so often for some event... Boom goes the dynamite!:fork:

and this is when i say "what a waste"

 thanks
Not a waste, but a good use of space. The money is headed to so many other things right now. I'm glad to see it being used for something rather than sitting and gathering dust. It's day will come, but until it gets a sponsorship or some funding it's way, I'm glad it's open for something.

I bet, i'm almost 100% sure, that someone saw Wonders and went.. "You know, we have a full elevated kitchen that has a stage and audience right across from it..." and thus someone decided to rennovate a little and viola they have a new venue for demonstrations and such.

(Pure and Simple faces the Anacomical Player stage - incase you were lost)

touche

at least with something in it, they are forced to maintain the exterior and interior to a minimum.

Sometimes I don't understand the fuss over dead attractions?

If the public went to WoL to begin with, it wouldn't be in the shape its in now. All I remember from WoL was Body Wars and the little cold things that were hot to the touch.

I agree, it should get blown away and replaced with something, anything, but as long as its there I suppose people will speculate.

Trust me people, your not missing anything.

I rode Body Wars the last time it was open in November and I rode Star Tours the same day about an hour and a half apart and I must say I thought Body Wars felt a lot "jerkier" and exciting. I've heard they're the same but in my opinion Body Wars was a lot more of being pushed around and stuff.

It was just me and my friend inside the ride and one CM working it (she looked miserable and insanely bored). There was NO ONE inside the pavilion except me, my friend and a group of 4 guys and a girl who looked like they got lost. I'm not exaggerating either... this was in the late afternoon.

There really is no point in having this pavilion open unless they re-do the attractions inside. A lot of people and moan but they haven't been inside in who knows how long..... so all of you complaining and wishing it will be open for YOUR visit (kind of selfish, no?) will realize that you may very well be the only people inside WoL and if you have a party of 5 or more you may outnumber the staff inside.

No, if Disney didn`t insist on not being able to update the pavilion without corporate assistance it`d be in far better shape - and possibly open too.

The building itself is a fantastic structure. I`ll take it over the industrially-bland shed that is behind the fancy facade of Mission: Space. The roof may leak a little - nothing some TLC couldn`t fix (also see Energy, Seas, Land) but it`s the inside that needs updating. Remember this was the last pavilion built where you could spend a half day alone. So much potential. Save your dynamite for the wand.

Martin, you had me up until this sentence LOL.

I agree with your sentiment, but I will never understand your love for that loathsome pavilion. I was bored in ten minutes as a kid...and I loved every other pavilion to death. This one - the odd blend of psudo-clinical ______ talk with lighthearted goofiness and inaccurate represntations of the human body...I just never "got it".

I'm glad someone did though, LOL.

That pretty much expresses my opinion on this matter too. Just get ready for a pavilion that is closed to the daily guest for years to come.
