Update on Roof in New Fantasyland Bathrooms

The Epcot Manifesto
I'll admit I've only seen Tangled once. I remember the tower, a horse, and a lizard. So is the thatched roof building supposed to be any certain place? Or is it another fairytale themed house? It looks great and really pretty, but I don't get it.

I think it's basically just the normal thatched roofing in the village of Corona (yes, I had to Wiki that to figure it out, even though I've seen the movie nearly a billion times, due to 2 daughters):

That pic you have there might be pretty close to what where gonna get. That "rocket tower" everyone has been asking about looks like it could be molded into that tower in the middle of your photo. Hmmm...

You're probably thinking of the former pond and stream's pump house adjacent to the walkway that had a live grass roof on top.

I don’t want to come across as a naysayer, this looks like it’s going to be beautifully themed and if this is the new standard for theming in the Parks, I can’t wait to see more small projects like this one started. But, the Rapunzel tower is not supposed to be visible from the village. It’s supposed to be tucked away in a hidden wooded canyon. This just seems a little forced to me. It’s like they decided to build some new bathrooms and someone said by the way they have to be themed to Rapunzel so make it work with the space you have. They could have tucked the tower away in the mountain of the Mine Train within the enchanted forest. It just seems like a new movie comes out and they have to force it in somewhere.

Like how they forced the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast in fantasyland right after they came out in the early 90's?

There's nothing forced about having a bit of Rapunzel in Fantasyland. It's the most perfect match you could ask for. It's the land of fairy tales. And the look of Rapunzel's village was inspired by DL fantasyland's architecture.

I don't think the Beast's castle is visible from Belle's village in the movie either. Call it creative license.

I don't have any concept art, nor does any exist to my knowledge, but from the prints I've seen the facades and theming of the entire area is incredible. The water fountains will be themed indicating it will be right on par with the rest of the FLE.

Okay, I have to know...what is the weird shaped building in the front going to be?

I see the thatched roofs for buildings that look like village huts/hovels. But what is the weird cone shaped steel skeletal structure for? I can't figure it out!

I asked my husband if he knew and he was stumped. He said "some kind of tower" but that's not where Rapunzel's tower is going because my son said they are building that way in the back where the rocks are.

Does anyone know what the big steel cone will be?

I am dying to know!

That doesn't show anything compared to the entire blueprints. Wait until you all see the detail. I'm trying not to sound like a pixie dust snorting fanboy, but these area really looks amazing.

Do you think you could draw a rough drawing of what everything will look like since we won't get concept art on this?

I would really love to be able to get an idea of how it will all look and I can't "see" how it will look from the blueprints. I'd love to see a rough sketch of what that cone in the middle is going to be in particular.

I really want this to be beautiful because I want to surprise my niece with this. She knows about the FLE stuff but I have purposefully kept the Rapunzel bathrooms from her to be a surprise when we get down there next June. She is going to LOVE it!!!

Not sure what it'll look like, but based on the plans that have been posted the round structure will be the entrance to the womens' room.

With the detailed theming of both the FLE and this new bathroom area, does anyone else feel like PPF/IASW alley is lacking in theming? I feel like the medieval tent look no longer fits with all of the new architecture. It'd be nice if they ended up redoing the facades along the PPF/IASW alley to match what they're doing here.

I have a feeling this look will be phased out. I'm hoping with the new Princess m&g opens we will see a hit of what they are going to be moving towards in the area. After that Peter Pan's queue will be going down and I am hopeful that it will get a new look. All that would be left is It's a Small World.

Didn't they refresh the Peter Pan queue last year?
