UPDATE: Disneyland's 50th

According to a press conference, there are some more details revealed about Disney's 50th.

Select Ride Vehicles such as Dumbo, Autopia, Teacups and more, will be transformed to a sparkeling golden finish. As will the lamposts on mainstreet be golden.

Also, Mcdonald's will have 50 collectible Disney figures that are set to different scenes within the parks.

Kellog's will have 50 different MIGHTY BEANS collectible toys in the boxes.

I've heard of the Mcdonalds promotion. I think it's fun, I like collecting all that junk :lol:
Does anyone have more info on the promotion? Also, whats a Mighty Bean?

And whats this about the ride vehicles... anyone got more info?

funny i work at McDonald's and when i asked about whether or not we'll be promoting DL's 50th i was told "i don't know"

^^One ride vehicle from specific attractions at DisneyLAND will be painted gold. Examples given were a golden Dumbo, a golden Teacup and a golden horse on the Carousel. Others attractions are supposed to get similar type things, but I'm not exactly sure which one.

It will be the luck of the draw whether you will get to ride in a gold vehicle (or in some attractions, even see the gold vehicle). Just a little thing to try and tie as many rides in DL as possible to the 50th and provide a reminder about this big anniversary.

I like the idea of having a single gold ride vehicle for the classic attractions.

Now, will this McD's promotion be a location-specific thing or will they be available at McD's nationwide?

The McDonald's thing will be nation wide. I CANT WAIT TO COLLECT THEM!!!! Im still working on the 100 years WDW ones. lol and I only have 30 of those.

A mighty bean is a stupid little bean shaped thing that has a metal ball in it so it stands on one end. They are for little kids.

The only attractions that will be getting a gold ride vehicle are ones that were operating on opening day. This will be their golden anniversary as well.
