Ummm....I'm guessing it's the Veteran's Auditorium in Philadelphia? Believe it or not, there's one in Jacksonville (arena, actually) Providence, and probably most larger cities, all of them referred to as "The Vet"

Veterans Stadium was built 33 years ago in downtown Philadelphia, PA. It was home to the Philadelphia Eagles (National Football League) and the Philadelphia Phillies (Major League Baseball team). Players and fans both had a real dislike for this stadium since day one. I can assure you that only a very few people are sad to see it go.

In my mind and in the mind of all most every one I know there is only one "The Vet." Philly is a pretty self-centered type of city. Whatever happens here is the most important thing in the world. ---and if you wanted to know - we (people from Philly, South Jersey, and the suburbs) are better then you (anyone not from Philly, South Jersey, or one of the suburbs.) It's the best place in the world to live.

Well I remember when Cleveland Municipal stadium was demolished, it was a sad day, but It was best in the long run cause the new Browns stadium is much better! :D

You are right Darrel!

The Philadelphia professional football and baseball teams were very pleased to see the Vet destroyed. New baseball-only and football-only stadiums have been built nearby. The Eagles began playing at Lincoln Financial Field last year. The Phillies played their last game at the Vet in September; their season opener in Citizens Bank Park is April 12.

These new stadiums are state of the art facilities.:D Now fans will want to go to these ball parks!

I know how you feel. I felt the same way when 3 Rivers was imploded. It amazes me how they can take a structure that large and implode it so that it falls in on itself.

The last time I was at the Vet, it STUNK. It was very dirty and dingy in the walkways where the concession stands are, but I do still have fond memories so it is mixed.

Does anyone have any plans to go to any Phillies games at the new park this year? I'm hoping to go sometime, but haven't made any plans yet.
