Unusual things you look forward to

I'm leaving for a solo trip on Saturday and whenever I think about this trip, I picture myself riding Universe of Energy. I'm not sure why, it's not my favorite Epcot attraction, though I certainly do enjoy it. But for some reason, I'm really looking forward to that ride. Maybe I'm nervous I'll wear myself out if I don't take some downtime on that ride
Is anyone else looking forward to anything random or unusual on their next trip?

I love driving through the main gates and starting to see all the Disney street and directional signs - finally makes it feel real!

We've always either driven to Orlando from home (eep, 21+ hours) or rented a car at the airport so we're not on Disney transportation and it just feels like an ordinary drive until I start to see those mouse ears popping up all over the place!

Close second - landing in MCO on occasions when we fly and riding the.. shoot, I forget the name, the monorail-like thing that takes you to baggage claim. I know it's nothing to do with Disney but for me it's like the amuse-bouche to the rides to come!

Whether we're staying there or not, I love hearing him say, "Aloha," on the monorail spiel at the Polynesian stop. I would also look forward to the smell of the Great Ceremonial House, but that's another thread... Poly Lobby Scent

The first walk down Main Street USA and any ride that has a song that will stick in my head, with the exception of It's A Small Word.

That's always my favorite too! When I first hit the center of Main Street and look up to see the castle. In fact, since having kids I get very emotional when I first see it every trip! I think it's because I still have memories of Disney World being the BEST PLACE EVER when I was a child and I am just so thankful that I have the opportunity to give those experiences to my children.

For what's it's worth, I also love the songs. My 6 year old daughter and I actually play a game where I sing the song and she has to guess the ride! She's pretty good - even when I switch it up and sing a song that's just in the movie but not part of the ride - she still gets it!

Side note: on the song thing, I currently have Golden Dream stuck in my head and have no idea why - maybe it's from all of the Epcot posts I've been reading recently??? :veryconfu

Seeing the beautiful sight of the Animal Kingdom Lodge sign, hearing the lobby music and visiting my friends at the front desk. There's nothing like being back home again. =)

An unusual thing? I like wandering into the Butterfly enclosure when it's been set up at Epcot.
So peaceful and colorful. It might take me away from the rides or the countries for a while but it's worth it.

Something I look forward too? Wow I look forward to the whole trip in general including the early morning ride to the airport. I guess the biggest things I look forward to are the smallest things we do. I really enjoy those last few steps in the evening as we stumble back to our room exhausted after having put 7 miles on the feet that day. Waiting for that first bus to come on our vacation to take us to the parks for the first time that trip. Sitting on a bench eating an ice cream or drinking a beer and looking up down and all around saying to myself that I am lucky being here. The rides, shows and food are all just plusses after that.

I'm going to stick with the OP for unusual things to look forward to. For me it's finding something that I have learned here on this site, last year it was house of innovation, next trip is to find the fire house in MK.
