Unused MVMCP Ticket

I have a quick question for anyone out there that might know the answer. We planned a big trip to Disney this year including MVMCP. (Yup, that's right, we leave on the 1st.. YAY!) However, we had a bit of bad luck and my in-laws are unable to go because she is fighting off bone cancer and has to have chemo that week. (She's doing very well BTW).

The problem is, we bought our tickets to MVMCP way back before we knew they weren't going. Through trip insurance, they got back everything for their trip so that's good. But now we have these two tickets. Now if the fact is that we are out $80, then that's the way it is, but I was wondering if anyone out there has had a similar situation with one of the hard ticket events. What happened? Were you able to return the tickets to Disney? Any ideas?

There are no refunds at all but you may be in luck & someone here may want to buy them from you. Other than that you can try to sell them on ebay (no sure if that even poss. due to all those stupid ebay rules) But even if you can't get rid of them have a wonderful time on your trip.

Officially, all Disney ticket media is non-refundable. Unofficially, please call ticket services and expain your situation. Have your Package reservation number with you to verify that the reservation was cancelled due to medical reasons. They will work with you to find a solution.

The phone number for Ticket Services is 407-566-4985. Be sure to choose the option for an "existing ticket order."

I ran into a similar problem and we originally tried at length to get disney to refund the tickets but they wouldn't do it. I guess I didn't get through to someone who would cut us a break... but i was not about to start yelling at the people.. i knew they said non-refundable when I bought it and instead of further pushing the subject I decided to give them away to people (random users on this board actually) who might enjoy them. Figured i'd try to build some karma and participate in the year of a million dreams in my own way :xmas:

Sweet Jesus! That's the worst advice I have ever heard! Don't do either of those things. If you can't get a hold of Ticketing Services, go to Guest Relations at the MK and explain the situation. Disney is not heartless

You can sell them on Ebay... the downside is you're looking at having to do a quick sale and overnight the tickets because your so close to the date. There are no rules against it. People sell tickets on Ebay to the special disney events all the time, I usually make a point to see if I can snag a few tickets that way every time I go because I can usually get them for 75% of the going rate... so you wouldn't get a huge hit money wise from selling them on ebay, but don't expect people to pay the full price for them.

As for talking with the ticketing people... its a crap shoot.... sometimes you get lucky and they bend the rules, sometimes you get the rule following nazi that woke up on the wrong side of the bed... but its worth a shot all they can say is Nien!
