Unpopular WDW Opinions

I have another unpopular opinion.

1)Money spent on a MagicBand is money wasted.
1.2)And at the same time they should let you choose a cool one staying on the resort if not and you get a simple one and then you go and buy another the first one is just rubish.
I mean, if you are someone who visits WDW multiple times during the year, I can see justifying buying a design you like. If you're a "one and done" person, then it is an absolute waste of money, considering how much they cost. Don't get me started on the "Limited Edition" ones.

I don’t like HEA at all. The only part I liked was Moana. I thought it was hard to see. Even from the Plaza Garden Viewing area. Some of the projection seemed small on the castle. The graphics were really busy and a little tacky at times. Just seemed so random. Think of all the Classic Disney to choose from. Sure some more minor characters got recognition, but with all the fantastic characters and music to choose from, HEA was just off. I feel no desire to ever watch it again. I am a big whiner and I miss Wishes 😢
Wishes was AMAZING. We still talk about it.... It is the yard stick to which all others are compared to.
HEA was ok. It was missing the emotional piece that Wishes had in spades.

My unpopular opinion: I have zero interest in parades.
Only parades I will be willing to watch are the night ones, that's it. I could care less for the daytime ones. Though in disneyland, if you time it right, it's fun to watch a day one while riding a taller ride, like Alice in Wonderland

Really? I just bought mine yesterday and paid $400 for it. I feel like that’s a steal for living in Orlando and being able to go to the parks whenever I want.

That's for a Silver Pass, with blackout dates.

Not long ago, that amount would get you a Premium Annual Pass, which is now the Platinum Plus Pass.

Yes, Disney's added things - but not enough IMO to double the price, even factoring in inflation.

I've let my AP lapse because the value just isn't there to me anymore, and we've switched to UO annual passes - because Harry Potter.

Peter Pan's Flight is an outdated, crummy ride (updated queue notwithstanding) and I will never understand the wait even with the capacity differences, especially when other opening-day "classic" attractions practically never even come close to its times. I REALLY think it needs a significant facelift.

Na'vi River Boat is underwhelming and as cool as Flight of Passage is and as much as I actually really like the food, I don't think I'll ever be okay with the fact that they devoted a whole land to Avatar of all movies, especially knowing what BK was meant to be. I probably wouldn't have minded if we'd just gotten FOP and Satuli Canteen on their own in a Muppets plaza-esque final product.

Muppet Vision, Living with the Land, Gran Fiesta Tour, Laugh Floor and Turtle Talk are all really fun, laid back attractions that I wouldn't want to change or get rid of anytime soon. Especially not Muppet Vision.

Parents need to focus more on making sure their kids are comfortable rather than cramming as many attractions as they can into one day. I saw a lot of young kids who were obviously thirsty, tired, overstimulated, etc and being dragged around the parks well into the night.

There are several "classic" attractions I'd want to completely retheme for various reasons (keeping the ride itself the same, Maelstrom style) but I won't say which ones because I feel like people would flip.

My favorite thing to watch at the hotel is the Mickey Mouse channel that plays all the new cartoons (y'know, the one that plays the duffy bear story at night). They're really funny.

The blackout dates are hardly an issue. I have no reason to want to venture through the crowds over winter or spring break, the summer dates are an issue but I’m planning on having a job there at that point where I get a pass anyways.

If you are someone who visits WDW multiple times you should be acknowledge with a free "custom" design.
The magic bands have way more advanteges for disney than for the guess themself.
I have mine a blue one they gave me for staying in site and I found it really something usefull while been in the park. With it its easyer to spend your money on disney!!
Its like Visa or Mastercard would sell you "Custom" Plastic for your credit cards

The Fox and the Hound > Zootopia
Neither are great IPs for much the theme parks, other than M&Gs.
I think whatever the greatest disney movie ever is subjective. I think it was the rescuers, no movie can top the tone that movie gave off to me.
But yeah zootopia, fox and hound won't fit well. I think a rescuers ride would be do able if it was more popular.

Disney should just go ahead and buy the Lord of the Rings franchise and build the Fifth Gate as Middle Earth.

I understand, but I like having the option of going whenever I want in the year. I can leave a Friday after work and go to the parks on Saturday, before heading home on Sunday - but that's usually tiring. I'd rather go on a long weekend, but unfortunately, long weekends in my industry are the same ones that the parks get busy for.

Or I could move to Orlando and take a ridiculous pay cut, but I'd get to go to the parks any day I want, but not be able to afford to have more than one drink at Epcot.

Insurance costs, housing costs, and food costs... I don't know if you could afford even the one drink after paying for your Florida Resident Annual...

Insurance costs, housing costs, and food costs... I don't know if you could afford even the one drink after paying for your Florida Resident Annual...

I live in Miami.

I pay about 31% more for housing than what I paid in Orlando (apples to apples comparison), car insurance is about 35% more, and gas is about 25 cents more per gallon.

Going out to eat is a wash (apples to apples comparison), but groceries are a little bit more expensive, and drink prices are more expensive.

Utilities are about 15% more, and sales tax is half a point higher.

Until now, Orlando's the winner as far as cheaper place to live. Now we add two more things:

My commute in Orlando cost $2.14 in tolls daily, whereas in Miami it's $6.60 daily. However, in Miami I work from home 3-4 days each week.

Also, I live in a pedestrian friendly part of Miami, and do a lot of my daily errands on foot.

And finally, I doubled my salary.

So while Miami is more expensive, at the end of the day, I'm better off financially being a visitor in Orlando than a resident.
