I thought I was the only one. Even though it's virtually the same, I get a new one every couple of years. The 2017 is probably in my mailbox right now, coincidentally.I have been buying and reading the Unofficial Guide since it was a tiny version compared to the 2016 edition currently on my nightstand. Never tried the touring plans, but always enjoy it when a new version comes out. Sometimes we skip a year, but usually have to have the new one as soon as it comes out. Especially like the online crowd calendar. I also enjoy the color companion.

I buy the book every couple of years but also can't speak highly enough of the personalized touring plans. We've used it as two adults with a baby (twice) and as six adults with a baby. Works flawlessly every time. Our days usually consist of two touring "segments" per day, 9 to 1 and 5 to 9 with a break in between.I switched from buying new copies to subscribing to the touringplans website and getting my updated info. there -- the personalized touring plans, restaurant menu search, and room finder tools have been terrific additions to our planning arsenal.
The personalized touring plans, in particular, have taken all of the stress and guess-work out of finding the lowest wait times for attractions, and enable me to incorporate my family's slower pace and frequent need for breaks. We can brag (we don't, but we could!) that in 3 trips to WDW, one with two seniors in tow, we've experienced 90% of the attractions in every park every time (and each headliner multiple times) in a 6-day visit and (except in the event of ride breakdowns) have only waited more than 20 minutes for an attraction once. (Oh Peter Pan's Flight, what I wouldn't do for you!) We take a 3-hour nap break every afternoon and we're in bed before 9:30pm most nights, but I feel like we're able to do more in two 4-hour touring stints per day than a lot of families who stay in the parks from open to close. All because of the knowledge gained from a few dollars' worth of a website subscription, we are able to make the most of a several-thousand dollar vacation investment!
