Thanks for posting, I hadn't realized it was out and love reading it every year ... even if nothing changes!

Can you do store pickup at B&N I wonder. I don't want to go there and pay $19 when I can pay $12 here.

Yeah, it just came out. I wasn't expecting it for another week and a half, and to my surprise, tonight I got the shipment notification (I had it pre-ordered at Amazon).

I don't think you will be able to. I had the misfortune of dealing with them while searching for the 2005 edition. I was trying to pricematch the local BN with the website and I was told they couldn't because they were "two separate companies". I was pretty peeved about it and I still don't like them. I don't even see anything about in-store pickup on their website either.

Wow, already? Usually it comes out right before our September trip and I have to rush through it looking for what's new. This year I'll have time to actually read it.

It's there, right on page 481:

In 2005 we had the good fortune to experience Snow White with Ben, an autistic tyke who, with his family, has seen the attraction more than elevent hundred times. His parents - far better people than us - stay sane by thinking of was to redesign the attraction each time through.

I'll never look at Cosmic Ray fries the same way again. Hope Ben & family are doing well.

A short list of new stuff in this book:

  • New touring plans for AK and Epcot
  • Vastly expanded coverage of vacation homes around WDW
  • Updating dining reviews (Biergarten did really well - interesting)
  • Complete re-review of all Disney resorts. We looked at everything from sound and light levels to pillow fluffiness
  • More coverage of the tours

I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out, but let me know what you're interested in and I'll see what we've done for this edition.

Sincerely,

Len

Hey Len, I stopped by my local Books-A-Million today, and all they had out was 2006. Do they wait to sell out of 2006 before they put out 2007 or do they send them back for credit.

When can we expect to see the new book on the shelves?

Thanks for the info Len

Do you have anything to do with the Disneyland version? We're making the plunge out there in 2007, so I pre-ordered that guide for the first time.

THe book won't be on the shelves at bookstores until Tuesday the 15th -- the copies that are being mailed out will arrive on or around the 15th -- Amazon.com notifies people when they mail it - it doesn't mean they get it the next day.

This is great, we were hoping to see it prior to leaving on Sunday. The UG shares an honored spot in our home next to the extra roll of TP.

Unkadoug, it should be shipping in the next day or two - I have retail versions of the '07 already. (Amazon started shipping theirs last week, and Overstock.com has a limited supply at a better price.)

A couple of things in the book (e.g., ticket prices, MYW Dining Plan for '07) have changed since we finished this update a couple weeks ago. We'll get those corrections on the website shortly. But if there's anything else anyone sees that needs fixin', or there's something you'd like to see us cover differently, drop me a line.

dxwwf3, I don't do much on Disneyland, sorry. It's hard enough to keep up with WDW sometimes. ;)

My B&N shipment came today! Along with the UG, I got the Trivia Book volume 2, and the Imagineer Guide to Epcot.

Even though I know much of the information in the UG stays the same from year to year, its the first book I took out of the box. The others will have to wait until I've read this thing from cover to cover. I'm glad the blue lettering is back. I really like how it breaks up the pages.

I happen to be on page 27 right now...reading the "best site for breaking news and rumors" paragraph. Any guesses which website gets that honor again this year??? :)

I can't wait to go to the store and pick one up, this will be the 3rd year I am buying it and I have to sit and read it cover to cover, even if some of it does stay the same. I just love it :) Thanks Len!!

I stopped at a Barnes & Noble at lunch, and they didn't have any yet. I seem to remember that last year the book stores near me didn't get the book for about a month. I think I may just go on line and order it.
