Universal Studios Hollywood now requires a vaccine card to enter

I know this is on the west coast, but I have a feeling it'll be coming to the east coast soon enough.

At least right now, it is not coming to Orlando because Florida law does not allow them to require vaccine verification as a condition of access.

You must not follow Floridian politics. USH isn't doing this because they want to, it's a legal health requirement in LA County, as the tweet says. No such requirement (or any requirement for that matter) will ever see the the light of day here in beautiful Covid Central.

You also said it would be coming to the east coast. And I said not florida…. Which it won’t come to As there is a law that prohibits it.
It’s not going to happen because Universal has long ago decided to largely drop mitigations in Florida. The law does not prevent this type of scheme as a negative test is also allowed. This is the same sort of scheme that most of the cruise lines were using prior to the Bahamas requiring vaccination.

That doesn’t contradict what I said. Again, look at the cruise lines. It doesn’t prohibit testing based entry requirements. The law is poorly crafted and wide open to being sidestepped which is why Norwegian was able to get an injunction allowing them to implement a vaccine passport.
that’s for the cruise industry. Until there is a ruling for the theme park(s) it is still against that order to ask for vaccination proof at this time.

The cruise lines were not exempted or under something different. They implemented the testing option because of the very same law. The law prohibits written proof of vaccination as the sole condition of entry or service. It does not prohibit proof of a negative test as a condition of entry or service that can be waved with proof of vaccination.

Not disputing that, never was. There was a supreme court ruling that changed it for Norwegian and possibly other cruise lines.

Norwegian Cruise Line received an injunction from the District Court, not a ruling and not from the Supreme Court. Norwegian sued because they did not want to add the testing option that would make their policy complaint with the law.

You were disputing that Universal Orlando Resort could implement entry requirements similar to Universal Studios Hollywood. The law does not prohibit basing entry/service on vaccination status or testing status. It only bans basing entry/service solely on vaccination status through written documentation. Once a business adds the testing option they are in compliance.

I was never disputing the testing status, never even brought it up. Only the vaccination Proof. And the vaccination proof is not happening in florida.

and you’re correct it was a ruling from the district court….
