Universal Studios: am I crazy or can a person do these attractions in 2.5 hours?

I have a 2.5 hour window of free time on Tuesday, August 30th on business trip and I would love people's opinions if it's worth it (and doable) to try the following:
  • Buy a Universal Express Plus pass
  • Ride Mummy, Twister, ET, Diaster, Jaws (all are UEPass attractions)
  • Ride Rip Rocket (a non-UEP ride)
Am I crazy? It's a lot of $$$ for two and half hours, but I love theme parks.

Thoughts? :veryconfu

Seems a bit optimistic to me but I am not a expert. You must really love themes parks to buy a ticket for 2.5 hours, more power to you :)

It would be a costly 2.5 hours but hey, that's what expense accounts are for!

:D

Are you counting time to park, walk to the gate, get your tickets, etc...?

Yes. I actually have 3.5 hours total. I'm allowing an hour to park and walk to/from the gate. Also, I'm an active runner so I plan to run from attraction to attraction (of course I'll do my best not to knock down old ladies or small children along the way.)

Oh now you gotta go and take video for us to see :ROFLOL:

Its doable, it shouldn't be that crowded. Skip Disaster though, as that takes almost 45 minutes to do. (Ride Men in Black and Simpsons instead)

Thanks, Tom. That's another thing I meant to ask: how crowded do you think US will be on Tuesday 8/30? :veryconfu

Rockit is likely a lost cause, and Disaster takes half an hour to see (without waiting in line.) Other than that, it might be doable. The day you're going probably won't be very crowded.

Its very doable (if you forget about disaster). Especially with it being a mid-week day.

Question: I'm planning to be there from 3:30-7:00pm, do I even need to buy an Express Pass or will the lines be short enough to get everything done?

I'd have to say it's overly ambitious to get all those rides AND shows in because the shows are only at certain times of day, but with an EP, you can probably get all the rides and at least some of the shows. You're not interested in the new Forbidden Journey ride?

Good question. I already rode FJ with my family earlier in the summer. Loved it, but we weren't able to get to Universal Studios.

And yes, I plan to run like a madman (within the bounds of the law) from attraction to attraction with my EP firmly in hand. By the way, I'm bald so I'll be even more aerodynamic than the average park goer.

You just made me spit my lunch on the computer screen! But it was worth it. Thanks for the laugh. :ROFLOL:
