Universal Orlando opens new million dollar production facility

Universal Studios Florida Production group just renovated the old Nick Studios for $1.2 million dollars to create a new state of the art production support facility. The new space can house offices for up to 168 people and has new editing facilities and more.

Interesting move, because we all thought production was on it's way out.

They must be making a pretty penny off of their sparse production schedule if this was considered a justifiable investment. I was under the impression that a decent portion of the building was already being used by Blue Man though, in addition to their soundstage.
