...I have no problem with debate, but JT3000 doesn't seem interested in debate. If you simply look at his post history you'll see that he has a way of attacking anything and everything disney and bashing those who like it. I've only responded harshly to him because he really is a nuisance here. however, my responses to others have been civil, at least i intended them to be. I have no problem with people who disagree with me.

Anyways, if I offended you i didn't intend to. It's just that JT3000 continued blatant attacks on other posters is frankly annoying.
Please do not use these boards to house a debate session. It drives people away from the forums and the site. Simply stating that you disagree with something along with your opinion is all that you have to say. No need to constantly post comments that are nearly the same every time. I'll agree that even I can get a little bit debateful (if that is even a word) and I try to stop when I realize it. Half of the posts in this thread seem to be you and the other poster constanly disagreeing with each other. If you would like to have a debate or anything like it then please do it via a private message, not publicly where everyone has to read around it to get to the point.

And to give my two cents to the topic of the tread, although I am more of a person who is not much of a Universal fan, I believe that Univeral's presence in Orlando is crucial to Disney's success. Would Disney be adding things like the Dining Plan or Magical Express if there was no nearby competition? The answer to that is no. Why would Disney bother spending money on those little extra things if there was no purpose to them. DDP:Offsite resturaunts, ME:Other means of transportation and offsite parks. And I do believe that there was a Walt quote with regading the nessesarity of competition. And if it wasn't Walt then I'm sure somebody has said it.

Not to be rude, but who are you? Are you a mod or something, because I'm pretty sure debate is allowed on this site, at least according to the rules of conduct.

Thanks, I do know what it means. What I am saying is that Blackstone (to the best of my research knowledge) does not A) Act as a managing partner, making policy, etc, and B) it would seem that in the press release I cited, that Blackstone is less of an owner and more of an investor. Yes, they hold 50% of the interest in the park.

I simply thought that it was misleading to state that GE really only controls 50% of the company. Really, they are, to my knowledge, the primary controler of the property. At least in terms of policy, etc.

So, basically, GE/NBC owns half of the company. Thanks.

I am not a moderator and I probably will never be one. I have just seen many threads get locked after constant debates. One of the more recents ones was 2 days ago when the backstage pics thread where 3-4 people would not stop arguing about the morality of taking backstage pics. What I posted earlier is very similar to what was said on that thread when it was closed.

Piaxio nailed it on the head. Blackstone group is nothing then a conglomerate. I think they bought more theme park business lately, maybe someone can extend on my later statement, but non-the-less they only hold a investment stake in USF.

PS. If you have your trash picked up by Allied Waste, or the older BFI in the northeast, then you do business with the blackstone group. Also a po.op load of property in the northeast is owned by the group. Among other things but not limited to, hospitality, healthcare, and equity funds.

Having been a former employee of the the blackstone group in in some extensive areas, this is fact!!!!!!

The Blackstone Group also owns a chain of cinemas in the UK called Cineworld Cinemas. They are notoriously tight, with regards to investment in the cinemas and what's more, there wasn't a hint of any free tickets for Universal before I went to Florida in June, either!

I swear, if you were any more paranoid, you'd probably crawl into a hole and wither away there. Why live among scary, opinionated society? If I cared who you were, I might actually be flattered by your apparent fascination with me. But in reality, you're just a name on my screen with 30-some odd posts who happens to have diarrhea of the mouth. I don't give a second thought to what you have to say.

Put on your mouse ears and start digging.

tight my ______... i pay £11 a month and i can see as MANY movies as i like :sohappy:

the sound system used is stunning (much better then odeons) and since the take over from ugc cinemas, they actually maintain the speaker system so your not blasted by the center speakers nor can you hear screens next to you.

Ive seen alot of changes at my local cineworld for the better, more to the point they are more approachable if there has been a screw up with your dd payment for the unlimited card and your not treated like a second class citizen (being a student finances can be tight)

Why should primarily a cinema chain over here - give tickets away for a theme park in florida when most of the people that go are either students or young adults who have no real intention in going to the realm of the mouse anyway? The promotion would fall flat on its face!

your complaining at something that isnt really there, compared to vue and odeon - cineworld are saint like :veryconfu
