I read in one of the other threads that gamecube is out now in the US. The Universal game was going to be a launch title.
Is it out?
Has anyone played it?
Is it a must have?
Im hungry for details....

They've been selling gamecubes here since monday. Only one game available tho, Luigis mansion. Sunday is the "Formal" release when more games will be available.

The Universale game reallllly looks like crap tho (In my opinion). I prefer the old Magic Kingdom game for the OLD Nintendo Entertainment System...at least that one required knoledge of the theme parks to succeed.

I just had a little play on the Magic Kingdom game - it is fun in a retro kind of way!
What games did you get for the Box? Does it live up to expectations?

I only have Oddworld at the moment...which is a GREAT game. Amazing graphics.

I have a long list of titles I plan on getting..all of which i am SURE will be classics.

Universal Studios Park Adventure

It's out, it was released the 18th. It looks kind of neat actually. It appears that each of Universal's attractions is its own mini game. You're objective, I'm guessing, is to conquire the entire park. IGN had a nice page on it at: http://cube.ign.com/previews/16591.html

The picture gallery is nice, don't skip it.

I'm reviewing it now - it's kinda on the crap side. So far the only part I've enjoyed was the Back to the Future ride.

I'm sorry - but any game where I have to impress Woody Woodpecker has to have something wrong with it.

Hey all...I played the Universal game on GCN and I can tell you...It is probably one of the most horrid games I've EVER played. I'd give it, maybe, a 1.5/10. I was hoping it would be good because I have fond memories of the NES MK game but this one blows more then the MK trash system. If you want to try it for yourself then, for the love of all that's holy, only rent it. I wish Disney would make one with the same general premise for the entire WDW resort but I doubt it will happen. Oh well. Later.

I always had a problem with space mountain...

I actually bat it RECENTLY..and i can honestly tell you the game wasnt worth the effort ;)

I had that game a long time ago and beat space mountain, big thunder mountain, and the speedway easily. I also was able to answer the trivia questions. i could never beat Haunted Mansion or Pirates of the Caribbean. What other rides were there? And what happened when you beat the game?

Not to dig up old topics or anything...but i just came across an article about this game that sums it up quite nicely::

Universal Studios - "...Slapped together as quickly as possible..."

Control:
The world control in the history of video games. The "Backdraft" and "E.T." Mini games are virtually unplayable.

Impact:
This is the best advertisment imaginable -- For Disney World. Kids playing this will never want to go to Universal Studios.

Lifespan:
It's over in about 4 hours. Four painful, painful hours. Never before has a game this short been so difficult to sit through.

Extras::
The only thing this title has going for it at all is a mildly amusing trivia game--hardly a feature worth paying 50 bucks for.

Final rating:
D-

The bad reviews for this game keep coming..I read 3 more today..

Comments ranged from "Not worth the paper this review is printed on" to "This is the worst game ever, in fact..I feel dumber having played it"

So anyone who spends any money on this is truely better off taking a 20 dollar bill and igniting it...
