Universal Offsite Hotels

Well, I am looking for a very close offsite resort, other than the Twin Towers and the Sheraton Tower. Something that is rather close or maybe a nice view of the parks. Anybody have any reccomendations? A lot of hotels offer free breakfast, are any of them any good? Please let me know what you have experienced!

I honestly don't know of many that overlook the park... As you know, the twin towers offer one, and I would think the few hotels off Kirkland (I think that's it) might have some views as well.

I know there's an Amerisuites, Sleep Inn, and several others in that area. It's literally across the road from the Parking Decks, though it's still too far to walk.

Hope this helps.

Nope, looks quite nice though, but it may be a bit noisy being on International Drive, especially if you want to sit on a balcony. Plus, if you want a Univseral view, you'd have to a request a fairly high room, facing the right direction too ofcourse, if I'm thinking of the same hotel you are anyway!

Red Horse Inn on the Corner of International and Kirkman is a great little boutique hotel. Otherwise, the Holiday Inn Resort on I-Drive probably would work

I'll second the recommendation of the Holiday Inn Resort on I-Drive. Pretty decent hotel, and you can see IoA from some of the rooms.

I would suggest the Sheraton though, it's a really nice hotel, and I do know I've had nice views of Islands of Adventure from my room at various times staying there.

Otherwise, if you'd like to spend a but more money, I would go for one of the three Universal Orlando resorts (Royal Pacific being the cheapest, Portofino the most expensive, Hard Rock in between).

for those views, ask for tower rooms facing west (ie. I-4) on the 10th floor and up...

sorry.. lol. I work for their parent company, Intercontinental Hotel Group, so I know all of their Central Florida/Tampa Properties fairly well

Is the Holiday In on Kirkham good? The one on International drive is really pricey, a little more than that one and I could get the Royal Pacific!
