Rumors, they are so cool! I love rumors, don't all of you?

Yes, a 3rd park is coming to Universal Orlando, and it will become a reality a hell of a lot sooner than WDW's 5th park ever will. It is still going to be a few years before an announcement is ever made though.

>>>It's not behind Dueling Dragons though... it's that nice big stretch of land that is next to IOA.<<<

Uhh, you sure they won't talking about the 4th resort?

The place that we should all be watching is the 2000+ acres that Universal bought from Loews, where they are dilligently clearing out for future use...

why do you say that a 3rd US park will come before 5th WDW park.........disney has much more land, has more operating capital and more diversified interests.......I mean both companies (US and Disney) are in a low period right now but, when the economy turns around (and it will because it always does) I think disney will rebound stronger..I mean ABC is at the bottom right now but it will pick up.....look at a few years ago with "millionaire" ABC was on top then....plus theme park attendance is definitly picking up again

Not to mention the ABC/CNN merge. But I still think a new park is not an option for both of them, they still have somewhat new parks to take care of, not to mention tending to their older ones.

And they're also about to be in the same catagory as (which is nearly out of their immediate problems) Vivendi and AOL. Don't forget that Disney also has the problem of having underperforming assets across the board, which is something that Vivendi and AOL do not have, even though their problems are on a much different and larger scale.

Nope. It's actually getting worse. Much worse...

Actually, CNN put out a PR denying any major talks with Disney. They left the door open for such a merger, but they did not say that any deal was in the making with Disney at this time.

rumour has it that plot of land that they bought from lockhead martin may be turned into another resort with golf facilities and also a waterpark inorder to keep up with the likes of disney, cus don't forget that universal does have a partnership with Anheiser Busch that was the reason for the Orlando Flexi Ticket and yes i do know they already own Wet n Wild.

Down boy, I can dream can't I? I also want monorail to everything in WDW but I also know that that is concievably impossible right now. I say I want a MagLev because I think it would be cool to have a MagLev. What's the point of the monorail that a bus can't do? Look cool, that's the main reason they are still around....

I dont think that Universal will get a new park anytime soon. First, they have some extra cash, but, their parent company isnt doing so well, so they will have to wait to see if things improve. Second, they have some room, but is their enough for a park the size of IOA?

Universal has a lot more land than people realize. Drive down Turkey Lake Road and across from Universal Creative's building there is a HUGE field. That belongs to Universal. They have the room for 1, maybe 2 more parks easy.

In regards to the buy-out, I keep hearing Dreamworks pop up. I can easily see this happening. Imagine a coaster themed to Gladiator or a land devoted to Shrek. That, and Speilburg is back, which can give us traditional rides like Jaws and ET again.

Most recent news is that Universal Music, Entertainment, and Parks will be kept right now with Vivendi and not be sold off at this point.

Actually, probably not...

I've never been to IOA - it sounds really kewl, but I'm not a really big "thrill ride" person, so I can't justify the expense.

Only been to AK once - I'd really love to have the time to explore the park in-depth, but there is already SOOO much to do...I barely get enough time to do all of the things I know I love/must not miss! I don't have enough time to even try to discover new things! :brick:

So if Universal built yet another park, it's really doubtful I could find the time to visit.
