What is your favorite Disney resort and why do you like it? That info will help me in my recommendations.

All three of the Uni resorts are great. Each with their own personalities. But Portofina Bay is my favorite.

All 3 hotels are very nice, on par with WDW's Deluxe hotels.

Portofino Bay Hotel (PBH) is the most expensive and generally considered the most luxurious. It has the largest rooms, larger than the rooms at the Grand Floridian. Generally, the two hotels are equivalent although theming is completely different.

The Hard Rock Hotel (HRH) is the one that's the physically closest to the theme parks. It's an easy walk to the entrance to Universal Studios, a bit farther to Islands of Adventure. It's more upscale than most Hard Rock restaurants but the theming is the same.

The Royal Pacific Hotel (RPH) is the least expensive but still very nice. It's a little bit like a modernized Polynesian, although the RPH feels more like a hotel whereas the Poly feels more like a resort.

As already mentioned, all 3 provide Universal's Express Pass, the equivalent of unlimited FaspPass all day long on every attraction except Harry Potter's Forbidden Journey and Pteranodon Flyers.

Hotel guests receive one hour early admission to ride Forbidden Journey.

Pteranodon Flyers is limited to one adult who must be accompanied by a child (under 56").

Think Disney Deluxe only nicer and less $. Our favorite is HRH, best pool-very laid back. If you plan on spending any time at the resort/pool- HRH is the best choice IMO :). Just tried PBR- rooms are HUGE! But it's REALLY far from the parks.
