i was wondering if there are areas where the scary things do not occur. a friend of mine is doing two days at universal while on vacation at disney world and is going with her family which contains little children. they get scared at scary things and want to avoid it at all costs. they are doing mickeys not so scary party which i assured her is not scary at all. its the trip to universal i told her to be careful. I said as a rule of thumb have the little ones spend time in the children areas. but my concern is getting to the kids areas without the creepy people popping out of nowhere at night.

The Halloween Horror Nights are hard ticket events and I would suggest for them to skip it. In the past there have been scare zones where things would jump out of the bushes (or whatever) but this year there are no set-in-stone scare zones. Instead there are roving packs of scare actors.

I love HHN. I think it is a blast. It's my favorite Orlando event of the year, no doubt. But, for the love of all that is holy...

DO NOT TAKE YOUNG CHILDREN TO HHN!!!!! Especially scaredy-cats. It can't be over-emphasized.

Not only will it be 95/100 on the fright scale, there are also a few drunks in the mix.

It just isn't an event for young kids.

Disney's MNSSHP is a much better event for little kids.

That is correct. If I remember correctly the park will close at either 5 or 6 on the HHN nights and the cast members will start moving people towards the exits.

I assume Universal Hollywood and Orlando are similar when it comes to Horror Nights. So with that being said, I've seen a couple of videos from each. It looks absolutely freaky! The closest I came to going to one was in October of 2009 when we were down there. My wife wouldn't have wanted to go however.

I just think it looks well done. There appears to be a Michael Myers house you walk through from the "Halloween" movies. Lots of re-enactments from what I see and as a huge horror movie buff I think I would love it.

At home we have some decent haunted houses this time of year. The best I've ever been scared is going into a room where we saw the girl from the "Ring" or the "Grudge" sitting down (they both look alike). We assumed it was a prop but still were impressed. When we started to walk away from the room the "prop" got up and followed us the exact type of walk they do in the movie (sort of as if a strobe light is on them). We jumped. It was a riot.

That being said, Universal Horror nights seem to go all out like that. Is there one for Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street too? Or Saw?

I go every year to HHN, and it is pretty scary (plus, I can be a wimp at times). I second the poster who said to not bring little kids (especially if they get scared easily).
