Universal Hollywood tickets issue

Folks,
I want some help in getting this resolved from ticketsatwork. I ordered 4 universal Hollywood tickets in march. We were supposed to go in april/may. But, due to extreme unforeseen circumstances, we had to re schedule. Now, we are thinking of going during july 4th long weekend. But, when I looked at the tickets today, it says "First visit expires : 05/31/09". I purchased it though our corporate discount program (nextjump which links to ticketsatwork) on march 14th 09.

I sent an email to nextjump and waiting for them to reply. In the mean time, I called ticketsatwork, they say on that day when I purchased they were valid but, they have expired and they cant help. I asked them if I can pay a penalty to get it extended. But, they say its not possible. I told them that I paid around 250$ and don’t want to pay the same amount again. They said they cant help.

I called Hollywood studios. The rep told me that, if I had bought it on their website, they can extend the tickets. Since, I bought it from 3rd party, they cant do anything. I called ticketsatwork again and told them that Universal Hollywood can extend if I were to buy from their website. So, why cant you do that. I can pay penalty. They said nope.

I am in a fix now. Is there a way to get this resolved please? Appreciate your responses.

Thanks,

I am not familiar with this company you purchased the tickets through, but it very well could be that they can only get certain discounts for seasonal rates. It may be that Uni offers them special rates for each season, your were for the spring/slower season, and that was the deal. They even say on them they expire.
I don't have a solution, I don't think you can win this one.
I would always suggest getting your tickets form a site/dealer that is reliable and doesn't sell tickets that expire before their first use.

As a matter of fact, while trying to search out your issue, I found another companies link to their site. The fine print reads:
SALES TAX IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICES LISTED. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES UNDER ANY CONDITIONS. ONLINE ORDERS DO NOT HAVE AN ORDER FEE. Shipping/Delivery fees may vary based on the amount of your order. All
orders over $125.00 must be sent with express carrier. Express carrier deliveries require signature at the time of delivery. Some movie tickets have restrictions during the first 10 days of new releases. It is the ticket holder’s responsibility to review expiration dates on
tickets. Some event ticket prices include a small service fee and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. TICKET PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE

Again, I don't know if there is much you can do except plead for some mercy from the company you purchased them from. See if you can get a credit towards a future purchase, or something else you can negotiate.

My only thought is if you had trip cancellation insurance for the trip that was cancelled due to extreme unforeseen circumstances, you might be able to claim the loss on the tickets.
