Universal Studios Escape? Thank God that gimmick is behind us. The reason it was dropped is because it was at the center the worst marketing campaign ever attempted by an American company. Universal Orlando is also easier to say.

As much as I hate to disagree, I liked the "Universal Studios Escape" Moniker. I like the word Escape.

It did confuse the hell out of the mainstream people, though. The public thought Islands of Adventure was just an expansion of Universal Studios, not an entire theme park (unlike us media-saavy theme park nuts who knew about years before it happened). The campaign ads were very well done plot-wise, however they didn't spell out that it was resort enough. Plus it still had the "studios" moniker.

However, I'm happy with the name Universal Orlando. It makes sense. As long as they don't call themselves "Cartoon World" , "Woody Woodpecker Land" or "The Holy Land Experience" I'm happy.
