PS I'm always coming off terribly curmudgeonly sounding regarding Uni, but I am incredibly looking forward to experiencing Epic.

So... I'm timing a max theoretical capacity on Donkey Kong of 800pp/h. There also seem to be infrequent vehicle gaps, which is disturbing. Just to point out this attraction is not operationally thought through.

I might blame Nintendo on this one. Whom I adore and think the attraction is going to be quirky AND super fun AND actually fully capture the spirit of what its trying to recreate... AND have scary nightmare lines.
Do you think Uni might toy with a.... -gulp- Virtual Queue for DK?

With so many attractions, it will be hard to decide what to prioritize with my one day in this park. If DK is unreliable and gets huge waits, I doubt I’d prioritize it when exploring a brand new park. If I get 12 hours in this park, I’m not wasting 2 hours on DK even if it is pretty cool.

I suspect I’d prefer a re-ride on the new Potter ride or Monsters Unchained. Those look spectacular.

I am pretty sure I will be visiting Epic Universe next fall. (Still working out my plans) I am already seeing it will be hard to prioritize which "land" to hit first and which might be able to be passed on.

For that exact reason I am planning to do 2, even if I have to pay extra for that 2nd day (still cheaper than Express probably)

DK and others will have single rider lines and I will take advantage of every one of them

I absolutely, absolutely hate the 2x2 single rider lines.

Thinking of Space Fantasy and Crushes coaster. Basically 20 people = 1 hour; the lack of line movement drains my soul. I actually now skip those lines. Though for some reason it doesn't feel as bad on Incredicoaster, perhaps because the CM's have to just use people rapidly without thinking too much.

I feel like DK is going to be far more like Crush.

Universal was under obligation to outdo Hagrid but none of the coasters will come anywhere near Hagrid caliber: long, thrilling, innovative and heavily themed.

Toothless will be way, way better than Slinky but at its core still a “Slinky”. Werewolf will be short and nothing about it will move the needle—hugely disappointing. The industry won’t even give this a second look. Star Racers is physically huge, dressed up sharp and pretty and will deliver Cedar Point like thrills but will lack “Disney”/“Uni” level theme. Donkey Kong will have innovation, a heavy theme and some thrills but will suffer in its duration/length/size—-it should have been made with double the commitment. This was the one that should have dethroned Hagrid. But it most certainly will not.

That might have been difficult due to the exterior sections while maintaining the visual effect of the coaster jumping parts of the track

…it could have still been done………EASILY——it was an issue of priorities/monies not capabilities.

The two tracks could have been just that: 2 distinct routes that we’ve seen before(Matterhorn, Space Mountain, Dueling Dragons) doing their own jumps and complimenting each other.

But I think it's complicated by the fact that none of those relied on an effect that only really works when visible from one side of the ride vehicle.

Even ignoring that, I don't think two distinct routes would have worked with the aesthetic they were going for, without completely revamping the ride

I’ve already factored in the jumping illusions for Donkey Kong and their respective and very necessary vantage points…..…..sure more complicated than one single track but very doable nonetheless **if Universal wanted it**. Naturally they would have had to dedicate more area and certainly more money to DK; they’re looking for the biggest bang for the buck and one short, low throughput, track is what they felt would suffice to show off this new “jump” effect/technology.

None of these coasters were designed to out-hagrids hagrids.

I'm not sure how two tracks would work with the show scenes? Space and Dueling Dragons had no and Matterhorn's show scenes are a lot shorter than Donkey Kong's will be
At least Epic Universe gets a waterfall, where Japan is just mist. Already a better version.
