A land closing for capacity in an entirely new park feels like a design flaw.

A side thought to your capacity concern:

I would expect, generally speaking of course, that if one Epic land is at capacity then likely other or all lands would be packed to the gills…… unlike the crowd patterns of a new land opening in an existing park(Pandora/Diagon/Carsland)

As for a design flaw time will tell if Universal should have even gone bigger than their already ambitious project.

Hyped for the single rider. I just hope they don't use VQ like is rumored.

Single rider is a mixed bag at Universal.

It seems to work primarily when wait times are moderate. 30 minutes max maybe. Hagrid's is known for single rider wait times that are equal to or exceed stand-by.

Once standby gets into that 45-60 minute range most people would rather do single rider, so wait times tend to become equivalent.

This seems particularly true for coasters, where families are split up to a degree regardless.

I find single rider lines at Universal the worst compared to most parks. A lot of that is due to the guests. I find a lot of families will join the single rider lines and are ok splitting up, cause they think the wait will be shorter.

Curious here:
Are you suggesting the families joining single rider lines are in breach of the spirit of single rider system or breaking an unwritten social rule?

((No judgment here—just sheer curiosity as to where you’re at))

Not at all. I have no issues with families doing it. I'm saying single rider lines at other parks work better as it's mainly single riders that use it. So the waits aren't usually that long.

I had this issue at WDW with Smuggler's Run. The standby wait was posted at 45 minutes. I did the single rider line because my GF didn't want to ride, and I was in line for 60 minutes. It looked like I had at least 15-20 more minutes to go, too -- they must not have been taking many people from single rider because the line was stagnant for long periods.

I actually had to leave the queue because we were going to miss a lunch reservation.

That was before I'd ever been on Smuggler's Run. Now I know it's not worth waiting that long regardless.
