Universal has always been a coaster resort...

Nonsense of the highest order.

The original Universal attractions around opening Kongfrontation, Back to the Future, Earthquake, Jaws, ET. There wasn't a coaster in town.

Coasters came into the park when Universal was at it's lowest point and had little money for investment, with attendance at pitiful levels they shoe horned in a few generic awful coasters like Rip Ride Rockit - which is universally cited as one of the most horrific coasters known to this planet.

When Comcast took over, it wasn't coasters that pushed attendance back up - it was worldclass theming, attractions for the whole family, starting with Harry Potter.

The Velocicoaster is another attempt at putting in an attraction, with little budget, just thrown in to say 'hey here's a new attraction' - it did nothing for IOA attendance figures. Which proves my point. For then Universal to see those results, then shoe horn in more coasters is utter nonsense.

Coasters are for a specific type of visitor. They are a minority, but very loud in their love for coasters.
These are the type of people who would feel utopia at Six Flag parks.
Ride queues of course will be long due to the low capacity of most coasters.

Universal should never strive to be Six Flags.

Coasters aren't low capacity at all. Velocicoaster can do 1700 riders per hour.

Six Flags parks now include Knotts Berry farm for one. Two one of the top rated theme parks, Dollywood, in the US has 7 coasters and nobody says anything. IMO you hate them cause you can't handle them.

You don’t actually know anything about the industry and about evolving consumer tastes, do you, Karen?

They’re constantly running market research, surveys, and focus groups across a wide spectrum of potential guests to understand what guests want. While this may not be what you want, this is what a majority of consumers want. And the majority of consumers is far more valuable to the company than you, Karen.

I am not taking Donnie’s side. But they wanted more mileage out of it than they’ve received.

IOA has been in an attendance freefall for almost 30 months now and there’s nothing coming in the medium term to stabilize it. In fact, there’s major competition coming this Spring.

I don’t think any of that is the fault of the coasters though.

I am getting more excited as the opening approaches! This new theme park will be amazing!

Its fine folks don't like it, or want to find fault with it.

It doesn't matter, this place is going to be MOBBED!

My only concern is huge wait times for attractions.

Lets see what happens.

If only they had built that rumored simulator ride where you actually FLEW the dragons too. Kind of baffling the land doesn't have a true flying experience. Looks great otherwise
I was saying this land needs 1 more ride a few pages back. Something that’s not an off the shelf flat ride or a roller coaster.

A coaster is a cheap low class attraction, nominally targetting working class people, as opposed to families who would want a more mentally stimulating attraction.
Umm... sure.

I guess that's why when I rode POTC, I came out with a higher IQ and was able to do advanced calculus, thanks to all the mental stimulation from its non-coasterism. But then when I rode BTMR shortly after, (a coaster!!) I was back to talking gibberish and throwing feces at strangers.

(Don't even ask about Uncle Bubba, a former attorney turned janitor after visiting Busch Gardens Tampa once).

So almost 1/3 of the attractions are coasters.

Turning into a bit of an elaborate Six Flags cheap coaster with a lick of IP smell about this, in my opinion.

Who decided to green light so many coasters? A coaster is a cheap low class attraction, nominally targetting working class people, as opposed to families who would want a more mentally stimulating attraction. Universal should remember it is families who will bring in the revenue - and most families won't ride a off the shelf coaster (even if you do the IP up nicely).

Add to this IOA is also a tad heavy with coasters now too. Is this a budget decision do you think ?
What elitist crap is this? I love riding roller coasters.

And I have advanced degrees, a child in a multilingual private school, a high household income, a European luxury car, and a stainless steel Rolex sports watch on my wrist.

To be fair you need a very high IQ to understand dark ride e-tickets. Their humor is extremely subtle and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics the average dark ride would go over the average guest's head. There's also Figment turning into a Skunk and farting on the ride vehicle, who's personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance.....

Everyone has underplayed Berk but ME!!! I think this land will be the sleeper hit of the park, probably on par or edging out Celestial Park.

Monsters has the Net Coaster (as fun as I think it'll be, I will admit it does look... weird).

SNW has been done two times before this, abelit will likely be new to residents of Florida.

Potter has been done two time before in Florida and is largely based off of a spin-off series of films that bombed....

I feel REALLY confident Berk is gonna really stick the landing, and yes, I'm biased! I'm biased! I love HTTYD WDWMagic!!! I LOVE HTTYD!!!

This has to be the most excited I've ever been for a theme park land, and if it had a flight simulator I'd be even more heads over heels for this land. My wallet cries in fear of the merch and the money I'll give my friend who lives near Uni to get said merch.

Why does it matter, this park is never actually going to get built.

I agree it's going to be really good. I personally never been into How to Train your Dragon it look well themed.

I'm more excited for the Monsters Universe land. That dark ride looks amazing as well as the dark theming of the land.

Oh yeah? But just think, your child could've already graduated by now if you steered clear of Velocicoaster, Hulk, Hagrids, and other brain-depleting coasters of the world and stuck with the mentally stimulating Spidey, HM, and more themed IQ boosters like them.... you bum! ;)
