Reminded me about a discussion I had about what's being expanded first, DU or Nintendo?

DU ride capacity: 3,157 per hour
SNW ride capacity: 4,100 per hour
And add on SNW activities with the bands, you get a pretty good per hour rate, yeah?

Then there's one factor here: what's a bigger draw? Nintendo or Monsters?

Most people are presumably going to EU to get their first taste of a SNW, it's going to be a do or die for a Lot of people going to EU. That's why DK and Mario are having 100+ minute waits, and Yoshi, despite being God's gift to ride systems (OMNIMOVER!!), is going at around 40 minutes. Meanwhile, word on the ground has said Unchained is arguably a walk on today and Werewolf is... there.

I'm of the opinion that SNW expansion, be it Luigi, Kremlings of the Karibbean, or Zelda, is happening first, and is probably going to break ground quietly this year, because SNW needs the extra capacity, it needs more draws so DK and Mario Kart aren't constantly at 100+ minutes.

This is the first time I'm reading "Kremlings of the Karibbean" and I need to ask: is this a rumored attraction from other depths of the internet, or just something wonderful you've coined? NEED it.

That's a moth original idea, hehe. I think a DK water ride focusing on K.Rool (Tikis get the coaster, and the polar guys get the dumpster put back) would be an amazing get, for giving DK something else to do and adding a full fledged water ride to the park. But I don't think there's any space at all for DK to expand sadly.

Damn, I want this now. I love me some kremling action.

Excited for this park. Monsters looks great. This looks like a ton of screens and the face projections are pretty bad. Projected AA's are always bad no matter who makes them. Frankly was hoping for a little more with this HP attraction.

Also curious how Epic being detached from the original resort affects perception. The IOA-USF link, made literal by Hogwarts Express, is an interesting twist. People were encouraged to do both of those parks because of the train.

Epic is detached from them and could conceivably be seen as a separate thing entirely, especially for travelers who aren’t staying at Universal hotels. Have to wait and see.
I don't think it'll be much of an issue.

Its only a 20-ish min drive from campus to campus.

Most ticket sales are park hoppers (I believe the 1 Day & 2 Day Park to Park offers are their most popular) so Epic will be an incentive to add another day.

I think Orlando is becoming more of a time issue than a money issue, with 7 parks between Dis and Uni, plus other options like SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, water parks, cruising, etc I think time becomes far more valuable than money.

We chose to skip HS our last trip simply because our itinerary already looked exhausting, it would have only added a couple hundred dollars onto our trip but with 2 days of travel, 3 park days, and a 7 day cruise the idea of adding another day just looked like too much. Without the cruise I think we’d still struggle booking 7 consecutive days at the theme parks, we love theme parks but it’s a tiring vacation and walking a dozen miles a day in Florida heat is too much of a good thing.

I think 2 Uni days combined with 3 (or 4) WDW days is probably going to be the sweet spot for most people. Combined with a couple travel days that’s a solid, and tiring, vacation.

Yes, there's not enough time/money/stamina to do all those parks in a week or so, but that was kind of the point.

Spend a week at Universal and not break apart your trip or be an add on to Disney.

We'll see how many people actually do that.

It will be interesting to see if that happens, I could see a lot of people who live in the south splitting their former week long trip (that combined both resorts) into 2 shorter trips, one for Uni and one for Dis. If we didn’t live so far away that’s probably what we’d do.

I’d love to live closer to FL simply for that reason, easy access to weekend cruises, easy access to weekend theme park trips, etc. Flying across the country really complicates the details.

The way Dolores Umbridge moves reminds me so much of Kylo Ren.

The transitions between screens and practical sets is flawless. I think this ride perfected it. I had to double take to see if it was actually an animatronic or screen.
