Universal connecting their parks with HP Train will WDW expand the monorail?

I know there is a lot of discussion on here about a potential monorail expansion, but with Universals plans to connect the parks with a Harry Potter Train do you think WDW will expand the monorail?? Just I was thinking about all the hype of this happening at Universal and the fact they just matched ticket prices with WDW, do you TDO will be thinking more about this? Just wondering everyones thoughts?? :)

With Disney promising their stockholders that they will be ramping down spending, I don't see that happening. It seems Disney has conceded the "theme park wars" to Universal at least for the time being.

Nope. Although the ramping down capital spending it subjective and selective it seems.

If The Mouse were to think this is big expansion, just let them wait a bit longer...

Nope. The monorail will not be expanding. And personally, I wish people would stop saying that Disney has to respond to anything Universal does. They do not.

This is loosely related, but an interesting exchange between a few of our 'insiders' last week. The thread was discussing possible new World Showcase additions, then the topic of a new use for the current Equatorial Africa space. Maybe my imagination is heading the wrong way, but this seems like it may imply a new form of transit. Looking at the area on google earth, this would be convenient access to Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Does the 'loop' reference point to a bus loop?

I'd be willing to bet that any "loop" coming off World Showcase will be a waterway. Wasn't there a plan at some point (very early on) to have basically a second World Showcase connected by water... maybe in the area that eventually became the Epcot resorts? I remember something vaguely of that nature. But a waterway from Epcot to Animal Kingdom opens up some new doors.

No, I don't think they will ever expand the monorail. That being said, I could see them eventually looking into some sort of system beyond the buses in the parks. Like a non elevated train like thing of some sort. Think monorail would just be too expensive.

Universal is connecting two parks that are less than a 5 minute walk from each other and you think that could indicate a monorail expansion? That's like comparing walking around the Japanese Pavilion to walking across Japan.

Exactly the point I was about to make. If the rumors of this Potter train are true, the distance it covers from one end to the other is less than the distance from the Epcot monorail station to the International Gateway...

New waterpark? Universal is opening a new one or someone else? Sorry, know about Potter 2.0 but must have missed about the waterpark.
