Universal Character Picture of the Day Thread!!

Funny story behind this picture. Some guy kept trying (while we were meeting with Scooby and gy!) to pull Scooby's tail. Even when we were in mid picture, he was trying to step in and grab it. Being a personal friend of Pluto's and knowing how annoying that is, and also knowing that at Universal i'm just a guest, I snapped and said, "EXCUSE ME WE'RE TRYING TO TAKE A PICTURE HERE, AND STOP TRYING TO PULL HIS TAIL". I got the biggest hug from Scooby

When did Universal make the switch from costumed characters to face characters for characters like Betty Boop and Olive Oil?

I think it depends on which park you're in. At Universal Studios, they're face characters, at Islands of Adventure they're full costumes.

Popeye's a face character now? I wonder how good he looks?
That Doc Brown is just awesome. I got a picture with him once and we said Jiggowatts instead of cheese.

AHHHH, awesome Spidey shot!
The Popeye one is interesting. While the one in the suit makes you think Popeye, a face character can be very interesting, especially if he can do the Popeye voice.
I haven't been to Universal or IOA in years, next time I go I hope to run into these guys and get some pictures with them and see how they are.

This guy was so energetic, just hopping and running around the gift shop...
Oh, man I wish I could have seen that guy! The one time I saw Spidey he was surrounded by kids and looked like he needed a nap. :lol:
