Locked away in prop warehouse somewhere there are full body Velociraptor costumes. There not as sophisticated or as large as these but they are full body and the facial structures along with all the coloring is dead on from the movies. There were at least three of them but it's been the better part of 10 years since they were used at the Orlando Resort.

How has this not happened yet?

As for the digilegs, they certainly look neat, but I wonder if they would be too unstable to allow the performer in the Melbourne video to do all that he is shown doing. I have no idea what the interior setup of that suit is, but it looks as though (s)he would need to be able to shift the center of gravity quickly, and I'm not sure if the putting the performer on stilts wouldn't compromise the deft movements shown above.

I suppose it was a Utahraptor from the "Walking With Dinosaurs" arena show doing some work out in the streets to drum up interest for the show, but really, the effect looks so good close-up it's almost a shame to confine it to an arena. I'm really bowled over at the talents of the performer in these rigs and how lifelike and expressive their motions are.

Best job in the world?

Some tantalizing behind-the-scenes-stuff:

I don't know why the legs are bothering people so much. She's even wearing go-away-gray camouflage tights.

Y'all need to go to a Bunraku show to learn to stop caring.

Because, although they are tights/pantihose it looks like she has jeans on and to me it sticks out like a sore thumb....

You wouldn't have it with say Mickey with his real arms out.... It just removes you from the fantasy of it.

I love it... I'm not knocking it... But as is it's not good enough for IOA/USF.

They bother me because with the Digilegs the exposed legs aren't necessary and detract from the physical effect.

Pardon I spoke incorrectly, the ones used at Universal Orlando were only half suits. Apologies.

Why yes, yes I am. But Universal does own at least three full body Raptor suits and were at one point in the Hollywood prop warehouse. Not sure if they have ever been used in the Jurassic Park section there for anything though. I originally thought these were the ones used at HHN Islands of Fear but a reader from another site was kind enough to correct me. According to him the full size costumes were very expensive but the half costumes used in HHN were made at a fraction of the cost.
