Has anyone gone on this tour recently? I would like to take it in August and want some good first hand info. of what I can expect.

Thanks

My wife and I went on it last October. It was pretty cool .. we had a wonderful CM (sorry, the name escapes me) who we found out later was giving her first tour. She did a great job -- never would have expected it was her first time.

Some highlights:
The conference room/ suite in Living Sea's. It was a pretty sweet setup. Learned that the glass is just held up by water pressure -- i.e. you drain the Living Seas and the glass crashes down to the floor

The house of the future in Innoventions. Something we would never have seen on a normal trip. I still long for the jacuzzi with a built in plasma TV.

JII. We went upstairs but there wasn't much there. Good view though, esp. of the monorail and SSE. Got to play with the pin table.

The Land. Learned about planting without soil.

Went backstage by Test Track. Costuming was neat to see and learn how it is done. Had a college student from Canada talk about his experience at DW. Came out in China. (personal note: I am not that impressed by "backstage" as others -- would much rather see things on-stage ... it's infinitely nicer there)

Lot's of good info on the tour. We took 3 tours on our last trip (Keys to the Kingdom and World Showcase being the others) and I liked this one the best. But then I'm a science geek ... And I think the CM makes a big difference.

Have to agree with CrackerJack. My wife and i went last fall also. We had a GREAT cm (micheal, i think?? ) I learned quite a bit about the park and all sorts of trivia re: future world (and some ws stuff too). we also saw the living seas lounge, but he said that it changes and sometimes they go to other lounges (like in SSE, WOL, etc..) depending on what's going on. We did see the test track backstage area and costuming and stuff. we also got to see the illuminations globe up close (not close enough to touch, but CLOSE) and saw the barges and the guys working on setting them up and stuff. I enjoyed both the back stage and on stage portions. We also had a CM from canada come and talk (though they do use cms from other countries also). I liked playing with the pin tables in the old image works above JII. At the end of the tour we also emerged from back stage in china (that was just really cool) and our CM gave us Undiscovered Future world pins (mine's on my desk right now) and also "get to the front of the line" passes for TT.
Oh..i almost forgot! He also let us hold peices of the material used to make SSE!!! That was neat...and also see how they make the wand "glitter".
I've taken other tours (at MK) and this was by far the best. The CM really made it cool!

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
Yep... sounds about the same as it was last March when I did it!

It was worth every dime, and I was the only person on the tour that day... so I got like the VIP treatment! :sohappy:

Also.. I dunno if they still do this... but when they give ya the pin and the test track passes at the end of the tour... they MAY put you in the preferred viewing area for Illuminations that night. Not Guaranteed... but they may do it. They did it for me... was a nice perk. :sohappy:

it sounds pretty interesting, and I think that I may try it.

I went on the Keys to the Kingdom tour last August, and I wanted to make sure I would get something as good as that was.

I'm not sure if the Illuminations viewing spot is a "regular" thing, but they offered it to us when we took the tour. It's a benefit, but I don' t think there is any guarantee that they will always do it -- may depend on park crowds at the time.

yeah, i agree. it was offered to us, but it was during a pretty slow time in the parks and we probably could have just gotten primo viewing anyways...don't know if its always offered.

We did the tour last May and it was very good as others have posted.

HOWEVER, there is a LOT of walking. It seems like we zig ziagged back and forth across FW four or five times:( And it was hot that day.

I don't know what it was. I've taken many tours previously (Keys, AK backstage , Yuletide, Steam Train, and was not as sore as on this one.

We just took the tour 2 weeks ago. The vip areas were fun to see. We hit the ones at SE, MS, LS, and backstage areas in UoE, Test track. Got us on test track during the tour. Took us in the cast member control room in MS. Also got a RoE viewing spot. Also offered a discount for lunch in china. Saw the RoE barges backstage. Met Cast member from France and did a one on one session with him. He worked in Guest relations. Yes, a lot of walking, but well worth it. We did 3 tours last trip and loved all of them!
