Ultimate Water Park

Hello All,

Question for all you WDW experts! What water park would you go to if
you only had time to visit one? We're visiting in early december and both
water parks will be open. Has anyone gone in december. Is it too cold for
the water parks? We really want to go, we're from Northern California, so
we're used to cold water.

Thanks so much, you advice is very.....appreciated and helpful.

If you have young kids, I would go to BB. It has a very large area dedicated to kids under 40", and a really awesome area for kid aound 4 - 12 years old. My kids were 3 and 6 when we were there last, and we spent most of our day in those areas. The main part of the park also has a lot more slides than TL, and there are many that you can ride with your kids. The main pool is OK, a little on the small side. If your looking for an awesome wave pool... go to TL. I have never seen anything like it. The waves were HUGE. But for my kids, it was a little to much. As for the weather in early December... it's hit and miss. Expect some days to be nice enough to swim and some cooler days. We will be at the Boadwalk from November 30 to December 5th... so I will be hoping for the best. We usually check the forcast the first day we arrive, and then pick the best day to go to the water park.

Yes the water is heated, so you just have to be careful of the outside air temps.

My preference is for Blizzard Beach, especially with the Tykes Peak area for Children.

According to the Official WDW website, BB will be closed for rehab until Dec 11th. Then Typhoon Lagoon will go down beginning the 12th. It looks like no matter when you go in Dec you will have only one option. Sorry if it isn't the one you really want. Both are great. I personally like TL better because of the tropical theming and the large wave pool.

My choice would be BB. There is more to do there and there is a lot for kids of all ages to do.

BB would be the ultimate water park if there were lights around the place and down the slides. LED and / or blacklights would be really cool down the slides. This would mean that the park could be open when its dark and how cool would it be going down all the slides in the dark, lit up by cool LED or blacklights. And its still quite warm as well at that time. Well at least the time that it would be open at night, during the summer, it would be fairly warm.

If you have a choice, and I doubt if you will, Blizzard Beach is the newer and better design (at least until the new ride opens at TL)
More great slides and unique theming.
